Thank you for so many great stories and pictures. It never ceases to amaze me what an avid traveler you have become. This trip has been especially interesting and exciting for me because of our family history. How wonderful to think you visited places where my grandparents and your great-grandparents were born and spent part of their lives. Pictures were wonderful!

I am so glad you were able to visit the place where my grandfather and your great-grandfather was born. I am sure many things have changed since 1897 but I am sure he would have been very happy that you made that trip. Thank you

Love the art work! How are those insect bites coming on? They just sprayed my town for West Nile Virus carrying mosquitos - yes Winthrop!! it is great to follow your travels!

Jen, You are clearly one of the best travel-addicted people I've ever known, much moreso than me (we met in Arrica, Chile, 2006). Is there anyplace you haven't been yet? I went to Tonga for 1st time last Dec, and hope to return to Bali (3rd time) this year. Wishing you good travels and empty hostels. Steve

Hi Jenn - this was one of Zacc's favorite parts of Europe and now I can see why. Keep traveling and blogging so the rest of us can live vicariously :) Guessing you and Jeroen are excited about Netherlands in the World Cup. We are hoping Germany beats Spain today. Our dream final is Netherlands v Germany; we won't care who wins. We like both those teams.

Aww your poor little arm is all red and swollen! I get bitten by mosquitoes anywhere I go, the only thing that helps is rubbing alcohol and let time take care of it. Anyhow, I am taking a class called "history of math." The professor lectured about Euler, a very important mathematician born in Basel. He solved the "Basel problem" and I immediately thought about you. It is such privilege to be a teacher in such an imporant city for the world of education! I hope you are doing wonderful besides the bites; i see your boyfriend is very handsome. Good to read your blog. Take care!

Loved your blog. I too have stayed at Lili's back in 2004. You were brave staying by yourself in one of those huts. Luckily I had an Indonesian woman to share the room with- she is like my family and comes from Padang. There were 5 of us,, the boys in one hut and Elvy and I in the other. Magic location. Can't wait to get back to Indonesia in 2010 for a 6 month trip this time. Pamela

Hey - that was when we were Facebookering wasn't it? When you were in Seoul airport? I was partly responsible for your unwashed state! It's like the butterfly flapping its wings thing. A Scotsman in New Zealand's typing finger can cause a plane in Korea to be contaminated by an unwashed American girl. Cause and effect. Wow.
