Yeah, sorry. But be prepared. I mean, how many of you are lounging poolside on a terrace overlooking the Mediterranean Sea? With a glass of Spanish wine? As the sun sets perfectly over the sea and a hazy mountainside, slipping into a warm bath of reds, purples and coppers? Well…we are. And this is where we’ll be living for the next two weeks. Tonight is night three, and each sunset so far has been equally perfect. So has the weather. Jason described it as being like the first few days of Spring in Florida, with a slightly cool, sweater-worthy breeze in the evening, but pretty blissful warmth during the day. Not too hot, not too humid. Just perfect. But enough blatant bragging. Let me fill you in on a few details. As you know, Jason and ... read more
So Travelblog.org now has a route map feature, so I'm going to try it out. If you click on the little map icon to the side here. It'll take you to our map that shows our trip in total thus far. It says we've travelled around 11,000 miles so far; not including sides trips in England. It should be fun to see how long it is at the end of the trip. If you switch the view to Satellite, rather than the cartoonish map you'll be able to zoom in and see the house we're staying at in Mezquetilla. I've put the marker directly onto the house. There's some photos as well. Enjoy! Jason PS- I'm working on uploading a video too...so stay tuned!... read more
All the way from the sunny Spanish coast...Jason brings you a few more photos, some of which should have been up ages ago. They go back to Vienna, our time back in England, and our triumphant return to Belgium. Hope you like them. Jason and Katie... read more
My oh my, it’s been a long time. In fact, it’s been such a long time, that we’re back two where we were several blogs ago. We’re in Antwerp, Belgium again, with the ever generous and helpful Lotte and Stu. I’m going to very briefly let you know where we’ve been and a few highlights since we last caught up: Belgium (Antwerp, about one week): Hung out with Lotte, Stu, Lotte’s brother Bram and his girlfriend Tessa, Bram’s best friend almost brother Danny, and a few other people, and truly felt like we were part of a real-life episode of Friends. There’s lots of dropping by for tea and coffee and a visit, and you never have to call in advance if you don’t want to. Bike riding is a very common means of getting around, ... read more
We're back in Tunbridge Wells, England, hoping to make a few bucks before setting off for the next leg of our journey (France, Sapin, Italy). We've been hopping all over the place and very busy, so there hasn't been much time for e-mailing/blogging,etc. But we promise that there will be some catch-up time dedicated to the blog shortly :) In the meantime, I have a message for all of my fellow St. Petersburgers. As you probably know, tomorrow (Tuesday, Sept. 5th) is the primary election in our neck of the woods, and my uncle Jack Day is running for Circuit Judge, Group 45. Because he is running against only one other person, tomorrow's votes will establish who takes the position. I'm going to include the link to his web page so that you can take a ... read more

This is directed mostly at my mom and sister, who have pointed out that I look naked in a few of these pictures. For the record, I am not touring Europe in the buff. I simply like wearing shirts that tie around my neck, and sometimes I wear a scarf around my neck as well. Therefore, some of these pictures look funny. Thank you for your attention. PS--Now at HOME, it's a completely different story. I always eat donuts in my birthday suit. ... read more
...we're floating on the English Channel, on our way to France. Well, our destination is Antwerp, Belgium, but we'll land in France first. The ferry is much higher class than we would've suspected. Everything's all glassy and lighted prettily and there are several bars and restaurants, huge windows and a duty free shop. The sun has set while we've been aboard, and not there's a big ol' fat lemon moon hanging low over the horizon of France. We can easily see the horizon on both sides of the Channel, and they look like dazzling strands of life slicing through the black night. We've been traveling in comfort despite the many bags the four of us have all together; Stu and Lotte just got a new Landrover, so we drove through England with the windows open and ... read more
