29 Years Old. Recently resigned from a good job, to see as much of the world as my shoestring budget will allow.

Day 18. This will be one of the very few declarations I will be making during my travels. Granada is the most beautiful town in all of Central America. It is Washington Square Park, the French Quarters, and the Montmantre district all rolled into one. The people are very generous, there is a strong vibe of cultural heritage, and the overall color of the town is like powdered paint- soft yet vibrant. I arrived here quickly after a 40 KM drive on the Carretera Masaya, coming out of the capital. It was close to 10 am in the morning, when I [View Full Entry]

This title is not just a reference to one the greatest films ever made, but just about sums up my last few days in Nicaragua. After the first couple of days in Managua, I decided to rent a car and head outside of the capital. I called up some of rental places to see if they had automatic transmissions. I taxied over to the airport, signed all the necessary papers, [View Full Entry]

Day 6. The alarm clock went off promptly at 7 am. Not that I needed one, but the church bells of the town where I am lodging at, in Guadalupe, have a funny way of telling the townspeople when to wake up, even on a Saturday. The van that came to pick me up was driven by Martin (Maar-teen), a local Tico that works for a local tourism company, and also a born again Christian. We had two stopovers to make on the way to Jaco, in order to pick up two other locals on their way to work. The town [View Full Entry]

Day 1. After not having been in Central America for close to 23 years, I finally have the perfect window of opportunity to visit. The flight from NYC to San Jose, was a painful one. I supposedly had a 13 hour layover, which would give me plenty of time to sleepover at my bro´s house, interact with his kids, and kill some time on the Playstation. Alas, this was not the case. The flight from LGA was 3 hours late, making my arrival at MIA at close to 1 am, instead of 9ish. I finally went to sleep close to three [View Full Entry]
