Hi Guys Sydney So we arrived in Sydney at 8am after another night bus. We caught the metro to our accommodation at base hostel and got checked in after a small wait as it was so early. We spent the first day exploring Darling harbour and most of the inner city. Sydney is a really nice place you can see why so many people want to come and live here. The following day we decided to get the ferry across to see Manly Beach as we had heard so much about how nice it was. We walked down to Sydney harbour to get the ferry as it saves a bit of money than getting it from Darling harbour. The good point about getting this ferry is that it goes right past the Sydney harbour bridge and ... read more

Hi Guys We know we are a bit late updating our blog but we are doing our best to get up to date asap. Hervey Bay So after another long bus journey through the night we arrived at 8am in Hervey bay where we will leave to go to Fraser island. We got picked up from the bus stop by one of the staff in our hostel called the friendly hostel. The hostel was really nice. It was a house converted to a hostel the bottom floor had 3 rooms and they shared a bathroom, kitchen and TV lounge area so it felt a bit like home. There is not much to do here so we just took some bikes from the hostel and went for a cycle along the sea front and down to the ... read more

Hi All, I hope everything is ok at home! Cairns We arrived in Cairns from Singapore with a short stop in Darwin. It was a long trip through the night, we did manage to get about 3 hours sleep on our first flight to Darwin but we were both exhausted once we got to Cairns. We got checked into our hostel which we had pre booked called JJ's it was nice but we did notice that this seems to be the end of getting free wifi in the hostels. The hostel is a few minutes outside the town but they run a great lil bus service up and down through out the day. Rather than go and get some sleep we had to go out and talk to a few tour companies to see what they ... read more

Hi Eveyone hope all is well at home. So we have spent the last couple of days in Singapore. We had a bit of an eventful journey to get here. The bus journey started of well in KL we got a lovely bus with very comfortable big chairs but the weather was terrible for the whole journey with torrential rain and thunder and lighting for the whole journey which made the journey feel even longer. To top it of while still in malaysia a van decided to crash into the side of our bus taking the mirror with it. Our bus driver was so funny running after the other driver through the traffic and the rain. After a lot of shouting and hand gesturing we were back on our way, but not for to long as ... read more

Hey everyone we have just finished touring Malaysia!! Once on the ferry from ghost town Satun to Langkawi we met Edward from Peru and Kirstie & Stewart from Edinburugh. We had booked into the Rainbow Lodge in Pentai Cenang so they tagged along with us and stayed there too. We had a great few days here. On the first day the 5 of us just roamed around the town finding our bearings we had a yummy lunch and we booked a day trip for the next day. That night we all headed to bed early as we were all exhausted. We had to be up at 7am for our trip so we were pretty pissed off to realise we had no window on our room, it was just a mosquito net and the gang next door ... read more

Hey everyone, Koh Tao So for the past few weeks we have been completely chillaxing on the islands around Thailand. We started off with a night bus journey from Bangkok, on a bus that was crawling with ants (Ian might say i'm exaggerating but i'm not!!) I spent the whole night watching the ants crawl all over the window.....I got NO sleep. We got to the ferry port at about 4am and the boat was not leaving until 7am so we sat and watched the sunrise and gave the mosquitos some breakfast lol! We used Lomprayah Catamaran fast ferries to make our way around the islands and found them fantastic, very efficent servive. Once we arrived on Koh Tao we checked into Asia Resort, we were really looking forward to jumping in the pool that had ... read more

Hey everyone, well we have had a very busy few days!! Started off with what we stupidly believed would be an easy border crossing from Poipet in Cambodia into Thailand. We took a taxi to the border strolled over and got stamped out of Cambodia. The place didnt look too busy,we walked across no mans land and reached the queue to cross into Thailand. We waited over 3 hours in the heat to get inside, when we eventually got insde it was mayhem no proper lines just hundreds of people trying to get across the border we waited another 2 hours in crazy heat here too. When we finally got across we got a minivan to Bangkok and then the tuk tuk couldn't find our guest house we were defo tired n emotional haha We eventually ... read more

Hey everyone hope your all doing good and your enjoying our updates :) For the last few days we have been in Battambang, a small town in the north of Cambodia. We took a private taxi here which was nice as we were picked up at our hostel and we driven straight there with no random stops like when your on the buses. But our driver was NUTS!! He drove very fast and on both sides of the road plus he had not one, not two, not even three but FOUR mobile phones that all rang at one point or another haha he got us there in 2 hours when we had been told 3 so we didn't complain lol!! We stayed at the Royal Hotel which was perfect, cheap, very central and clean and the ... read more

Hi all!! Well we had a very comfortable trip from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap!! We booked the new coach service called Giant IBIS. It was a little more expensive than usual at 13 dollars pp for the 6 hour journey but it was well worth it. The bus was brand new, it had less seats so lots of extra leg room. It had wifi on board, a movie showing, and we also recieved a drink and a snack!!! It was AMAZING haha a very comfortable journey even with the poor roads! The guys at the Mad Monkey in Phnom Penh have recently opened another mad monkey hostel in siem reap so we had booked ourselves in here and we were a little disappointed with it if we are to be honest. The food was not ... read more

MISSING October 6th 2012

Hi all, Well for the past few days we have been in Phnom Penh in Cambodia, we took a bus from Saigon at 6am with the Sinh tourist company and it was the best option because they took our passports up during the trip and filled in our departure and arrival cards and made our border crossing form Vietnam to Cambodia very easy and stress free. At one point during our trip we had to take a small car ferry across a river. It was here where we got to witness the poverty in Cambodia. There was a young boy on the ferry begging people to pass food out the window of the bus to him. It was very sad to see. We arrived in Phnom penh and got a Tuk Tuk through the busy streets ... read more
