Yes, we are back in Basel, Evi's home town. She was actually born in Zürich, but considers Basel her home since she was a young girl. Anyway, after two simple flights from SFO to Newark to Zürich, we arrived in good shape. We celebrated Yom Kippur with Evi's cousins and brother there, then after releasing all our sins for the previous year, the next morning we took the one-hour train to Basel, where we will stay on and off for the next month. Well, dear friends, Evi and I are leaving on our trip in 5 days. Currently we are packing, storing, cleaning, planning, but we're ahead of the game! On October 11 we fly to Zurich, Evi's city of birth, and home of her brother, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. Her parents are in Basel, one hour away by train. We're excited but frankly a bit nervous about the great unknown in front of us.
