Since the last blog the weather (I'm sorry to say!!) has got much better. While in the Pyrenees we had an awesome day that involved a cable car, a chair lift and a 12 mile walk to a glacier and back. The scenery was absolutely fantastic and it was so bizarre to make a snowball while wearing boardies and no top (the males that is!!). It was possibly one of the best days of the hoiliday so far. The next day Suze and Ben chilled out whilst Jake and I got a cable car upto 2500m and biked back down again. I am sure you will all be happy because it is now raining and has been pretty much for the last 24 hours on and off. It was torrential during the night and we had to keep getting up to make sure that we didnt have a re-run of last time when the awning collapsed! It is very beautiful though and yesterday when the sun was out it was stunning scenery and we went horseriding. We had a great laugh as Bens horse trotted with him completely out of control and Jake moaned about his family jewels getting crushed! Today we planned to go for a walk up into the mountains but were rained off so went into Lourdes. What an experience. We decided on Millau and we got here on Friday afternoon. The site is at the start of the Gorge de Tarn and is not great but is right next to another river surrounded by more beautiful mountains. The first evening we sat by the river and watched otters (or beavers.....we're not sure!!) swimming in the river. WOW!! Unfortunately you'll all be glad to know that the weather has changed and it is now similar to Cornwall. It feels like winter after Italy! Still having fun though. Manged to cycle up the gorge and back again yesterday (about 24 miles) which is very good for Ben! Today we borrowed a double canoe to add to ours and paddled it. Hi. We got here on Sunday after a really poor night with Suze feeling bad but Ben worse (vommiting half the night). A really busy drive down but finally got to a site that fitted our needs about 7 pm. Within 30 mins I (steve) joined the pukey club. Not a good start. Since we have been here we have been to St Tropez. It was lovely but had to sit in traffic for ages until we got bored and walked. It was very busy but worth the hassle. We also went to see the canyon de Verdon which is supposed to be tha second biggest in the world. Again, very busy but spectacular views. It is day 11 .Only 28 days to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My best bit so far is canyoning. Canyoning is when we make our way down river gorge in different ways. I wasn’t going to be allowed because some woman said I was too small and I would be caught in currents and taken down the river. Our guide, Jurgen (A COMPLETE NUTTER!) said he would take me. Hooray! I had to weir 2 wetsuits over the top of each other but they had no sleves. Over that I had to weir 2 wetsuits jackets! Over that I had to weir a helmet and a lifejacket! I WAS BOILING! Hi everybody. Sorry for not blogging more but it is proving quite hard to get on a computer! We are now in Manerba on the shores of Lake Garda and have been since Monday. Venice was great. had a look around during the day on Saturday and then went back for Sunday evening. Suze managed to get a couple of galleries in so all was good and she was happy for some culture!!! The only down side was the temperature. It was absolutely baking. Garda is also very hot. We have a pitch overlooking the lake which is beautiful but after the last couple of sites it is tiny.....barely room for the tent and awning! We arrived in a camp site near Venice yesterday after another long drive! We opted for the scenic, shorter view but it took ages as the mountains were so steep. The van was really pushed to her limits but it was worth it as the scenery was spectacular. The site here is totally different to Austria. Loads of young travellers. Hannah.... you need to come here! We are pitched right next to the water with a view across a busy water channel looking straight at venice. It is seriously hot!! Off to the city now by water bus. Ciao!... read more

So far we have travelled through 6 countries and stopped in 3. Our first stop was in Belgium for 1 night. The first site we tried to get in was full but it looked a bit scanky anyway so I was quite pleased! Then we found another one in 10 minutes that was by a river and surrounded in trees witch was rather pretty. The next day we arrived into Austria for 5 nights, it was surrounded by mountains and next to a big river, which was much prettier than Belgium. We did: rafting, which was a good laugh but a bit boring because we mostly sat there; biking, which was cool as we got a cable car to the top of a mountain and cycled all the way down and canyoning which was the best, ... read more
