St Pauls From The Wobbly Bridge
Dear Bo and Dud, I returned to work this week for the ‘final countdown’ 8 weeks to go!!! The last 6 weeks have been a frenzied attack on caravan and awning, with a couple of supplement breakettes to try things out. The purchase of new awning poles and a chest fridge drew us to a little place called Brompton by Sawdon, about 15 miles from Scarborough. A lovely flat site, so the awning went up well. However, after 5 days of tugging and pulling, Howard insisted that we look into getting the canvas extended by about 18 inches. The chest fridge [View Full Entry]

Dear Bo and Dud, We’ve had a busy time since I last wrote to you. The Easter holidays were spent in Dorset; I can highly recommend this area - the traffic can be a bit of a nightmare but overall well worth a visit. We stayed just outside Weymouth at Chickerell. Weymouth is a lovely sea side town, it has a long promenade, harbour, and excellent beach and sea bathing. We have George III to thank for making this resort famous in the 17th & 18th century. February 2007 Hello Bo & Dud, February already!! I can see that the next few months are going to zip past leading up to our great adventure. Half term came around very quickly and so we had our first outing of the year to North Wales. Fortunately, we were able to get away before the snow brought things to a halt in Derbyshire. We had a sprinkle of snow, some dull days and a little rain, but a couple of sunny days which more than compensated. I’ve not visited North Wales for more years than I care to remember. I spend [View Full Entry]

The Prologue

Europe » United Kingdom » England
Dear Bo & Dud, A belated Happy New Year to you both and welcome to our travel blog. Howard has been busy researching blogs since the arrival of the new laptop. It is going to be our way of keeping in touch while on our travels. My first job on returning to work after the holiday was to put in a request for a year’s unpaid leave. I am reliably informed by personnel, sorry H.R. (Human Resources!!) that I am entitled to take a ‘career break’ - at my age this made me giggle somewhat. Anyway call it what you [View Full Entry]
