Ola Bo & Dud, Another week in Spain goes whizzing by. We were going to move on last Sunday but it was extremely hot and not a good day for travelling - good job we’re so flexible in our arrangements. It was on Monday that we moved on about 100miles to Camping Playa Oyambre, just to the west of Comillas. We’re using several points of reference to find sites but some of the directions have to be followed to be believed and the Spanish clearly do not believe in pointing out where sites are. 15th September 2007 Ola Bo & Dud, We are breaking new ground and are in Spain!!! It’s been an action packed week - on Monday we had a day out in Bordeaux. Although we’ve travelled to this area many times, we’ve always been here during August and it’s far too hot for a city visit, so now was our chance. It is a fabulous place - the old architecture sits well alongside modern redevelopment, and, the whole place was buzzing with students and rugby supporters. Dear Bo & Dud, We were quite sad to be leaving La Sirotiere in Vernoil. The awning carpet had gone into jungle mode and, as it made getting into the fridge difficult, we thought we ought to be moving on. Ann & David had made us feel very welcome and as you can see from the photograph we had plenty of space to relax in. 31st August 2007 Dear Bo & Dud, I’m writing a day early this week as tomorrow will be a full day of packing up in preparation for the move to Grignols. I’ve bought the dog biscuits, and put them in the usual place; it will be interesting to see if Aina remembers us and where to find her morning snack. 18th August 2007 Hello Bo and Dud, Weather wise, we’ve had a very unsettled week; hardly surprising as Wednesday was a French Bank Holiday and it rained for the best part of the day. This was rather disappointing as there were several ‘fete du village’ around the area. 11th August 2007 Bonjour Bo & Dud, The week before we left home we were both like tightly coiled springs about to ‘boing’ off in any direction at the slightest touch - if you could see us now, in complete contrast, so relaxed we’re almost horizontal. We spent last weekend following the shade of an oak tree which is in the middle of the field - temperatures got up to 35c. 4th August 2007 Bonjour Bo & Dud, We’re here then - after all the planning, settled for the time being at a place just to the north of Saumur; called Vernoil. We left Sutton Scarsdale on Sunday 29th and had an excellent journey to Kent where we spent 2 nights at our usual pre-departure site in Appledore. We spent our first evening watching hot air balloons in the distance and a barn owl patrolling the field in front of us looking for his dinner.
