I'm writing this a week after being home, and Europe feels like decades ago! There was really only one weekend in between the last update and coming home, and that was the weekend that Annette, Pierrot and Laurent captured me and took me to the Mosel Valley. They picked me up Friday night, after I sorta packed and started to get ready to come home. We drove to a small village outside of Cochem, and stayed in a holiday apartment. It was really cute, with a wonderful bed and the village had some great food and wine! I ate so well that weekend, let me tell you! We went to Burg Eltz, which was a really cool castle where my camera ran out of batteries. It of course rained on the steep walk down and ... read more

The last was berlin right? well since then been hanging out a lot and getting out a little. Maria and I decided to nix the Amsterdam thing, since there was NO where to stay and we like sleep, so we went to Munich with Isaac (from the castle) and Bobcat instead. Ria really wanted to go, and I loved munich, so we were off. Took the train, well almost missed the train thanks to dudes sleeping in and losing wallets. but made it barley, played some sweet card games on the early train and waltzed into munich! Just as great as I remember. I love that city, wish i could spend weeks there. They happened to have a Spring Fest that weekend, so we went back to the good ole Oktoberfest grounds and walked around. ... read more

I know, I know. It's been forever. But there for a while I really didn't have much to update about, then things just got busy, so I'll do my best. Really I just hung around for a few weekends, not doing too much. Homework ect. And then Maria came. We'd been short an intern for a while so they sent Maria in from Oregon. And we started hanging out. First weekend we went to Koblenz. It is where the rivers Rhein and Mosel meet, and decided it would be a good place for a day trip. Doc, (Stephanie with the Ph... get it, doc??) Maria and I headed out to explore the day. We went on a boat trip where the commentary was in German, but got to see some beautiful countryside and cool monuments. ... read more

Hello my stateside friends! Seems like it's been awhile since I updated, but not too much has been happening around Baumholder. I've been working a lot. Thankfully staying in my preschool classroom, but things have been crazy since they stole one of our excellent staff members to put in the other preschool room. So it's been the lead teacher and I, and that is just not enough staff to last a full day in preschool! Needless to say it's been stressful for the staff and the kids, and they have been showing it by being crazy! They have also started to test my limits more, as I am now the only other in the room now. tricky kids. Hopefully they will be hiring more staff soon, but it's cys, so we'll see. Thankfully the weather has ... read more

It's been a little while since I updated, so I thought I should fill you all in on my adventures. Trier was a great little city, we spent the day there and got to see Pascal as well. We checked out some of the old roman ruins, and walked around, had kepabs of course and took the train home. We only slightly got stranded on the train (sound familiar AO?) since our little train station is so tiny it's not listed on the departure schedule so we thought we couldn't make it home! Luckily we found some friends that did some investiagion work for us and figured it out okay. I made it to H-berg a few weekends ago! It was wonderful. I took the ducks with me so I could show them my old stomping ... read more

So, I arrived back in Germany with only minor delays. I had trouble getting out of Omaha, but at least got to go back home and hang out until my rescheduled flight. As usual, it was a long day traveling, and I was exhausted when I got in. I was on the flight with another girl from Iowa, and our supervisor Ryan ended up picking us up at the airport and we were the last interns in. There are 17 interns plus our supervisor, so definitely a bunch of us!! I am living in the barracks, and sharing a bathroom with Ryan. We have one kitchen per floor, so that kinda stinks. Our housing is about 20 min. from the main post, so we have to take the military bus into work everyday. Not much is ... read more

So, yea it's been a while since I posted. Thought I should update you all before I start my next adventure. So, I left H-berg and all it's wonderful glory. I'll never forget my time there, or the people I met. All around an amazing experience and I worry slightly that this next trip will not match up in the magnitude that was H-berg. Sigh. 7 of us interns had an amazing blowout on the last Friday in town, filled with beer and downtown, dancing, drinks with fireworks in them, MP cars, and a little crying to wrap up the night. AO and I spent the next few days traveling between anyone that would house the lost interns, such as Denny (AO's teacher) Carol, and G. Good times were had all around. Denny took us to ... read more

Holy buckets. I can't believe we are cleaning up the apartment, and getting things ready for our final inspection already! Our time here is winding down, and it's quite sad. I am done teaching preschool, I have a week of observations and hanging out left. One of the little girls during circle time raised her hand, and when I called on her, she didn't really have anything to say. She stammered for a little while and finally said, "umm, I think I love you." Heart wrenching. But the last few weekends have not gone with out some fun. I went to the Netherlands with Carol, Ed, Bev, Chozy and Jezmay. We went to Volkenberg to see a Christmas market that is in these caves under a fortification. Sounded pretty cool, so Bev made all the arrangements ... read more

I didn’t mean to ignore my blog for so long, it just seems like nothing too cool was happening. Until Scotland that is, and I’ll start there because it’s the best part. After only three days of school last week, AO and I got up at 5:30 to put a turkey in the oven on Thansgiving day. We made a quick dinner for the ones around, and we did it just like grown-ups! After a day of traveling AO, Grace, and I finally arrived in Stirling, Scotland where Melanie, a friend of Alisha’s is studying at the university now. She met us at the train station and we went to our hostel to get situated. Friday we basically hung our around Stirling, saw the castle, William Wallace’s monument (where he beat the English, Braveheart ring a ... read more
