Alemanía Hi there. Love your wild horses photo!! I will go back to that area in 3 days. Alemanía (with accentuation on the "i") does not have anything to do with Germany, although I made the full tour van go there being the only German in the car. The name derives from an Indio/an tribe. I will try to find out more about them this time.
Told you so :) I told you that you would get sea sick ha ha - and did you listen to me.... no... 40 hours is a long time... Congrats on getting there old chap! Sounds amazing.
Hugs

Yay thanks for the update guys! Hi from Pete! Cuenca looks like a nice town and it's great to hear that you're doing well. Carly your Intercambio sounds like a really good idea, it must be fun to be learning Spanish that way. And the "boys in towels" party must have been crazy.
The 90's party at the Sea Shanty was heaps of fun. There was a lot of dancing until pretty late at this one too but no choreography! Saturday just gone was a lot of hard work moving, but went well and Alissa and I are settling in to our lovely new house in Kiama. We'll send some pictures soon promise.

late, i know sorry about the blog lag everyone, but the website has been down too so it's not just our fault! we're on our way to Ecuador to work now, will be there in about a week (3rd July). Miss you all! xx -carly
hi there. been following your adventures. too bad not everything has worked out but that's part of the fun. two things. the students begging is part of the hazing riguals for first year students, common in many countries in latin america (and i think portugal too). students are often made to go beg for change in the streets and parks.
i don't know why your restaurant owner was dragged kicking and screaming but it probably didn't have to do with bribing the police. the chilean police are the only truly professional police force in latin america. they are not corrupt (there's corruption everywhere of course) and don't take kindly to bribes. chile as a whole is far far less corrupt than any country in latin america, comparable to the USA, and less corrupt than france or japan for example (according to transparency international).
enjoy the rest of your travels!
Looks Bloody Cold Greg, did you even pack a warm jacket!!!
Looks amazing! Were you as crap at Spanish Bingo as you are in English Bingo!? Cos that was funny :)
Be Good

hunka hunka burnin ice was that whisky special part of the 'cruise experience', or did you smuggle it onboard yourself?! i wouldnt be surprised....well done anyway, a very authentic glacial experience.
I wish I had been there for bingo, I rock at Spanish numbers! but the rest of the language, hmm not so sure. I get to test it out in a week tho...see you in a few days chico loco xx
Looks Like New Zealand Hey Gregory James! These shots remind me so much of New Zealand! It looks amazing! Wish I was there to see it too! I'm still studying away. Hope you get better! It's hard to travel when you're crook.
