On arriving in cloudy Chiang Mai, Thailand, we got ourselves some Baht (local currency) and hopped into a taxi to take us to our hotel. We had a good hotel tip off from some guys we met in Loas who had just come from Chang Mai and they weren't wrong. Our hotel was real nice, new in fact, realy contemporary and all the mod cons for about 5pounds a night...bargain. After checking in we decided to have a walk into the town and maybe pop to a market, we stepped outside and the heavens opened. Our luck with the weather had finally run out.
