Hello, welcome to my travel blog. About me - well to cut a long story short, I left England when I was 20 (a Barnet girl) travelled first to New Zealand for a year where I enjoyed life as a postie around Auckland’s streets (as at that time English people had a bad reputation for being too casual about employment) and it was all that was on offer. I loved it and got very fit, first on foot, then bicycle.
Then on to Australia for the next 30 years or so. Occupations included housekeeper on sheep station in outback Queensland, secretary for mining company in Mt Isa, scriptwriter, promotions manager at ice rink, tea lady, the list goes on!
However, went back in London for 7 years and am now based in Australia again. I say “based” because I still have itchy feet and haven’t done nearly enough travelling.
So this is the start of my new life... footloose and fancy free, meet lots of people, have adventures and make the most of freedom and enough savings to keep me afloat.
I've bought my Toyota Hiace campervan, and plan to work on conservation projects, do some volunteering (wwoofing on organic farms), pick up jobs in the outback and whatever comes my way. Oh yes, and write the life stories book. That’s high on the list. Do join me on my way.
