I am travelling through New Zealand at present and looking out for the sorts of things I haven't come across in earlier trips. I'm heading south around Easter time and plan to go on to Australia, Africa, Canada, USA, UK......
I never did get back to the park again I’m sorry to say but got caught up in arranging where I was going to stay for the night which seemed infinitely more important. The next event for me was the annual Cultural Day over in the Mt Roskill. Once again this is a suburb that people would pass through without a glance and yet they hold this wonderful festival here. Mark it in your calendar if you are on your way or even if you are planning to come back. It was held nearer the city in Potters Park several years ago and I was here for the first gathering. I’m not sure if I’ve entered a raffle. The man across the aisle from me has fallen asleep and I can’t help wondering where he is heading for but in less than fifteen minutes I arrive at Avondale station. In case it’s a winner I leave my ticket on the seat and step down from the train. The place looks deserted and not a soul gets out with me. Avondale could well accommodate the most idiosyncratic concentration of people in the

Three days later I was in Auckland...... I thought I was still tripping!! I've made several visits since and love the place of course but this 'trip' I'm heading south and only have time to check out two or three places of ineterest in Auckland that have been suggested. So onward then southward.
