Deja Vu, well kinda but not quite. Last time I was in Sydney, we had just finished doing the East coast and boy were we poor, we had to get jobs sharpish, no longer could we go out, eat out or eat for that matter if it wasnt the old backpacker favorite noodles. This time its all different, is it because this time i have learnt to be more responsible with money? Hell no. the real reason is that my mum and dad was here and to be honest they spoilt me rotton. Dinners, lunches, taxis and tours - what more [View Full Entry]

So after experiencing my final massive weekend in Qtown which you guys made very memorable, (or not at all memorable for some of you drunken fools), it was time to say my final goodbye and head back up to Auckland, with of course a few stops along the way. First stop is Christchurch - the England away from England. It was a mammoth bus journey, well only 8 hours but after my send off it felt like days so much so that I was very unsociable on the bus and didn’t even try to speak to anyone but I think most [View Full Entry]

So after realizing that time was running out in my time on the land of the long white cloud, I had to finish up at work (yippee) and get back on the road. The next portion of my travel tales are on the Bottom bus seeing what the Deep South of New Zealand had to offer. So after being picked up in Queenstown where I had to say goodbye to my wonderful little flat to return to the joys of hostel living, the first stop was Dunedin. The bottom bus is affiliated with the kiwi experience but are smaller buses which [View Full Entry]

So where was I, ah yes we had just left Waitomo and we were onto Taupo. The bus was quiet on the way, this is not a regular occurrence and was due mainly to the fact that the majority of the bus were going to do a skydive once we arrived in Taupo. I decided against doing the skydive as one, I have already done one when in Oz and two, I think my bank manager would track me down and maybe not kill me but definitely give me a stern talking to. I decided to go with the guys to [View Full Entry]

It was an early start this morning, real early but all nine of us made it and were excited for our black water rafting adventure. A weird thing has happened since i've started travelling, whenever I have a few drinks, I have an overwhelming urge to make sure that everybody in the vincity knows who I am, my life story, my future aspirations and my outlook on my life. Now when i'm sober I am fully aware that this is not much interest to anybody but I can’t seem to help myself, this morning this came to bite me. As I [View Full Entry]

So I was finally able to take me and my diseased leg out of Auckland and I couldn’t wait. Auckland wasn’t my kind of place, I don't if this was due to having to stay there against my will due to the doctors in Auckland saying so (they have too much power) but it was all in all just a city with nothing major happening to make it a good city. So it was Monday, start of a new week and I'm off to see New Zealand. Today was my first early start in a long time, 7am - for a [View Full Entry]

Fiji Time

Oceania » Fiji » Mamanuca Islands
Bula everybody, so first off a bit of a rant, I left the cook Islands on the 26th of October and had a four hour flight but didnt arrive in Fiji until the 28th, the 27th did not exist in my world this is due to crossing the international date line. Im annoyed at this as it is one day i can not get back, the world has thrown me for a loop, im confused and bewildered, but i have thought of a way to get around this, basically once i am done with this trip, i will have to go [View Full Entry]

Kia ora from paradise, I’m now in the Cook Islands and it is beautiful here. Paradise does come at a price however, as Raratonga is only 32km all the way around the Island, most of their food has to be shipped from New Zealand meaning it is expensive especially when coming from the US where it is so cheap. I was staying at Varas backpackers and it was right on the beach, it was beautiful if a kind of strange set up. Varas caters for a whole range of guests, from dorms to luxury bungalows but the dorms are in the [View Full Entry]

San Diego is my last US stop and it will be a chilled out one as I been trying to see as much as I can for too long and I basically need a rest. On arriving in San Diego, I was straight away hit by the heat, it is hot here and it was only 9.30 in the morning. I’m lucky I'm here at all, if it wasn’t for saras wakeup call I would still be asleep, our shuttle was collecting us at 6am, Sara was off to Hawaii and me to San Diego I was awoken at 5 past [View Full Entry]
