shampoo i went to the shampoo club in 2008 and were "treated" to a show of the dj stripping unexpectedly down to his bday suit. I've been told that's not the normal. The matchmaking is though, although old fashioned. It's what sets regular clubs/dancing clubs from night clubs like shampoo. hahaha good times nonetheless.
Glad to know you'll be home Oh, Erin, I so admire your adventurous life. You bring the world and history alive for me. I'll miss all of these vicarious trips I've been taking with you. Still, like your Mom, I'll be happy when you're on USA soil again safely and soundly. (hmmmm....not that Fort Hood has been the safest of spots to be lately) Safe journeying, dear girl. Hope to see you when you're here.

Yuck! That Yellow Dust (Asian Dust: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asian_Dust) sounds downright nasty! I guess that's why the locals sometimes wear face masks...? I'd be curious as to whether you guys have gotten into that habit, too? I think it would take some getting used to to don a mask to wear everywhere...
Thanks! :-) I'm planning on moving to SK in the autumn, so I'm looking forward to reading more of your blog! You have a very nice writing style. Thanks for posting!

once again Remind me why you are leaving teaching, when you are so good at commentary and sharing history with others?? Thanks for taking me abroad with you!
vietnam Thanks for your lovely email and your kind words. We have had an absolute blast in vietnam, having spent about 5 months in s/e asia now it is a very refreshing change! If you have 4/5 days i would fly into saigon as it is an absolute must (It just pulsates with life - it's awesome!) then fly or get the night train to nha trang where you could pick up with the easy riders and spend a few days with them either on bikes or in a car. They can either take you back to nha trang where you can fly back to saigon or to danang where for about $25 you can fly onto hanoi. We weren't so sure at first spending so long with the easy riders as we like doing stuff ourselves but we saw things we would never have seen otherwise and it really was the highlight of our time in vietnam! I think they are making a website so when it is up and running i will drop you the link and you can have a look for yourself. If you need any more info just give me a shout, more than happy to share our opinions and advice. Take care and happy travels

I know your decision was a hard one, but sometimes you have to make changes that will better your life and future. Money isn't everything, but one needs to be realistic, too. I'm SO glad you made the decision to travel instead of coming home. We're always here for you, but chances like this don't always come along. Dad and I are so proud of you!
There are so cute..she such a sweetie dancing and hopping around..And what a beautiful holiday and very neat . Is always interesting to learn about the way the world celebrates different from us..Erin you have a beautiful class and seem to be doing a great job with them..Keep up the good work, we miss you and dan loas take care of yourself....
What a great time you've had, and it is so neat to see you in the places we visited 1 1/2 years ago! I loved the Yu Gardens (a UNESCO site), and the Shanghai Museum was a TRUE museum - not the large gift shops the Chinese like to call "museums", after you view a ten minute film on jade or pearls or tea. I don't understand why the Chinese don't have someone translate their "English" signs properly, but they are hilarious to read, since they make absolutely no sense!
