Matt and I arrived in Cusco, which is the Incan capital of Peru. We spent some time walking around Cusco exploring all of the remaining Incan structures and walkways. We decided to hike to Machu Pichu via the Incan Jungle trail; the hike was three days and two nights. Unfortunalty we picked a bad tour group and did not have the best experience hiking but we had a good laugh when we reached Aguas Caliente(base camp for Machu Pichu .) On the upside we got to visit some amazing hot springs along the trail in Santa Theresa. Machu Pichu was incredible!! [View Full Entry]

Matt and I left Bolivia for Peru. Our first stop was in Arequipa, the second largest city in Peru. We booked a hiking tour through the Colca Canyon. We watched giant condors gliding on the thermals of the deepest part of the canyon. We walked to the bottom of the canyon and stayed in a local village where I got to try on a traditional andean dress. On the last day we visited an oasis and did some relaxing before we hiked five hours back to the top of the canyon ... it was a lung buster. [View Full Entry]

We took a couple days off of traveling and spent some time in La Paz relaxing. We then took a 12 hour bus ride to Copacabana/Lake Titicaca. Lake Titicaca was beautiful!!!! We did a 17km hike from Copacabana to the boat dock that took us to Isla Del Sol. We spent the next day hiking to the north part of the island. We ended our tour of Lake Titicaca back in Copacabana.
