Hi Donna & Neil, great blog again i hope you are keeping them all to put in a book. We love following you on your travels.
Take care and be safe
Love The Clarkes x
Thanks for a walk down memory lane Visited Lanta and Ngai back in Nov of 2000 - I remember that crazy swim through Emerald Cave! (and we had heaps of jellyfish too). Thanks for taking time to share...
Love your tales from the road It is sad that people make pigs of themselves when they are offered a buffet meal. It does not make any sense. As for queueing.... it is an art form and so many believe it is alright to jump ahead. Where and when did that really get started? Once again you've shared a nice story and photos-- sorry to hear about the jelly fish encounter. Can't wait to read more.
I couldn\'t agree more with you both. It seems that the zombification of mankind is well and truly taking place thanks to modern technology and the sad thing is that people can\'t see that they are actually being brainwashed by these infernal devices and the companies that sell them. You mention that people are becoming ruder and more selfish and yes, this seems to be the case too. Just one prime example today. We were standing in line waiting at immigration to get our passports stamped when this Russian family just push themselves to the front. Having already waited 15 minutes, I was having none of it and the immigration guy actually came out of his box and told them to go to the back of the queue. It seems that moral are going to hell in a hand cart as well! Take care :)
:) Ha, Tesco... You just cant escape it. We always visit if we see one, but we do love to wander round supermarkets with our tongues sticking out drooling.
I love Air Asia but I'm sure literally everything is automated with no human brain intervention at all. We've just been sent a reminder to check in online for our next flight, at the bottom is says you can't if you're flying to Australia as you need a pre-immigration check, Our flight details are clearly visible on the email and guess where we're flying to?? Also the check in staff couldn't do anything about our seat allocation on the last flight as it was 'full'. Thankfully the Cabin crews idea of full was a little different as they just moved us to the back where there was at least 10 empty rows of seats??? The joy of budget airlines... :)
The poo things a British thing I reckon We just got back from 2 1/2 weeks back home and I think poo was mentioned every day - be in dog, baby or people poo. You guys are just flying the poo flag for the good old UK.
Good to hear Krabi night market is still as good.
Happy New Year!!
Happy New Year! You didn't stop to visit Ali? We are on to KL early Feb, Batu Caves coudl be a fun idea for the kids. Hope to see you finally in 2012...or later...
Happy new year! Hi guys, we had a chock-a-block time planned in KL, so no time to visit Ali. Batu Caves is worth the trip out (try and time the trains better than we did!), the kids will like it with the monkeys. We may finally get to meet in 2012...if we manage to plan in advance, we always seem to miss each other! Hope you enjoyed the new year celebrations in Fiji - looking forward to the rest of your blogs.
Good to see you blogging again Sorry you missed the train. I would say Pringle\'s parents were old hippies but I\'m not sure when those chips came about. What kind of camera did you decide on?
Can\'t wait to read more. Happy travels.
Pringles has strange parents! Hi Dave and Merry-Jo...it's good to be blogging again, we have missed it but don't think it's worth re-treading old ground! Pringles the cabin crew was only 20 years old or so, we presume her parents were just fans of the crisps (chips, as you say!)!
Our friend bought a Canon camera, we recently got a new Fuji compact but DSLR features...as you can see from the pictures and videos, we wet a little bit crazy with the picture taking to properly test it out.
Hope you had a great new year, best wishes for 2012!

Inspired! Hi Donna & Neil! I've just finished reading your blog and I wanted to write and say that I've had a really enjoyable read! Firstly it was disbelief that you'd been travelling for so long, which quickly turned to awe when I realised that it was in fact true. You've inspired us to tinker a little more with our RTW plans, maybe spend less time in Thailand and go over to the Philipines instead, and just be generally flexible with where we want to go. As your blogs are getting less frequent now than they were in the beginning (as you aren't blogging from places you've already been) I know I'd find it really interesting if you could put a quick summary of all those places you've been to in-between at the top of your next blog, just at the moment I feel like there are big holes in your story! Thanks for keeping me entertained :o)
I am from San Isidro Leyte. But I'm living here in Sacramento CA... I just read your blog.. I felt sooo bad your experience in the Philippines.. reading your story I felt very exhausted.. I hope never happen again if you want to go back there.. Next time if want to go back, you have to very careful co'z not all people are nice.. Especially if are foreigner they trick you sometimes and they ask big money... Just like other places in this world.. If you have questions about there in the Philippines. Just send me an email. I'll be happy to give a info. what I have learned there.. Have great day!
Great Blog Hey guys, just stumbled on your blogs again.. I will be back in Thailand, Malaysia and Bali from Feb 13th - March 3rd.. Will you be around the traps? I had to laugh at your experience with the transport at Surat Thani... it is SO bad! The best option is to get overnight train then public bus anywhere.. but it is damn hard to find in Surat and you have that damn transport Mafia at every turn! I think its the same company that have screwed me at least twice! That restaurant in the middle of nowhere with the 'your bus in 10 min' every half hour.. still sitting there... oh god! I am off to Lanta again this trip so great to read your blog! Funny, when I was there in 2006 we ate at Thai Cat and LOVED the food.. but it was pretty laidback and not so touristy then... I was dying to get back there for a feed, but you have given me a better alternative by the sounds of it! Safe travels.. let me know where you guys are in Feb xx
HAPPY NEW YEAR! Hey both!
Love reading your blogs and it never fails to amaze me that we read all your blogs before we went, we went, we've been back a year.. AND YOU'RE STILL THERE! Just incredible and you'll never get bored like you say, there's always something you haven't seen before. It was nice that you found somewhere new to visit in Thailand and that the terrible journey there paid off.
You both always look so well.. compare your photos to those when you first went away and you haven't changed! Proof that travelling keeps you young I think.
Take care both of you and hope to hear from you soon. xx
great to read your adventures Hi guys, as always it's fun to read you adventures! Hoepfully on your next visit we'll be in BKK and you can stay at home. Wish you a wonderful 2011!
what? us messy?! Mum, really we aren't THAT messy ;) haha actually you know us too well...we had tidied it a bit to make the picture look a bit more presentable - the worst thing was we had only been in the room about 18 hours!
Wow, we never realised that massaman curry was so popular...it was the best we had tasted EVER (jealous?). Michael and Faye, hope you got the curry paste!
santa in Koh Lanta Hi Guys Happy New Year, Glad to see you are both keeping well and out of trouble! The world is changing all the time, same as is the weather, so keep your eye on things as I am sure you will. It looked a lovely place and a good one to spend Christmas, food wonderful. Wish you both a good journey on your next lap. love Iris & Family
We saved for 3 years and then went Hoff to travel the world. Chris Columbus and Magellan eat your heart out...do you reckon other people will have already discovered the places we are going to? You bet!
