Pretty spectacular! Hi, great to have you back again. Stubbled across your blogs when you were in Thailand (I think!). We did the SE Asia thing a couple of years ago and did this blog thing, so I like to keep up to date. Anyhow, amazing photos..the Taj looks sooo surreal. Would love to do India (but with a 1 year old, it might take us a while...).
Keep the stories coming!

Same, same...... Having a bit of a wander down memory lane (as I've just got back from a 22 month trip) and came across your blog, which is very entertaining. It looks like we've covered similiar ground! Anyway I can help you with the saying 'same, same, but different' - allegedly it refers to ladyboys...who I guess are 'same, same, but a little bit different'. Always made me chuckle that most of the people wearing those t-shirts have no idea.
Great reading guys... Hooray another entry from my 2 favourite bloggers! Another good read, hope that delhi belly stays away for you both and you continue to enjoy your adventure in a completely new country... take care x
I loved reading your blog! I have been to Delhi several times - always at the beginning or end of a trip, and always when I am feeling exhausted. Your account of ending up in sari markets when looking for food, and hotel staff who insist on doing things the 'proper' way regardless of logic sound all too familiar!! I look forward to reading more of your travels in India.
Phi Phi!!! It is such a shame reading your blog about how Phi Phi is now. I was there the week before the tsunami and I really loved the place, but in your photos the beaches look dirty, but whilst I was there they were very clean and it really was a paradise. Such a shame.
Patong 2008 Hello there,
My boyfriend and I are currently in Patong for the first time and wish we would have read your webpage before we came. The prices are what you have mentioned and even a bit higher. I had a nasty run-in with a vendor. I said too low of a price and he went a bit crazy cussing, flipping me off, I was actually quite scared and this was on the stretch just from the beach. Generally, we don't really get that welcome feeling and it's too bad because we had heard so many great things about Thailand. We will be moving soon but I just wanted to thank you for your webpage.
Howdi Bonjour Guys,
Nice to see you are both travelling and having a good time. Kim cant believe how long you have been away. We are already starting to run out of money so have been forced to get jobs in sydney. We ae currently staying with kims sister in manly, and its very nice.
We think that we will be in oz for a few months yet, trying hard to save the pennies before continuing to Asia. No doubt we will probably bump into you both on a deserted island somewhere. :O)
Keep having fun.
James and KIm
update on Block D 7F Unfortunately this guesthouse has had a fit of greediness. We e-mailed them to book a room and they wanted to charge US $85 for two people sharing the room in the pictures above.
Oh dear, how to lose business lesson 1...don't take the p*ss with your prices. People can stay in the Shangri-La for $100 a night!
Sounds familiar.. So sorry this trip wasn't as exciting as expected. Just make sure you make up for it at your next destination!
Have fun and travel safe.....
Shoe Box Room Chung King Mansions!!!! We'd recognize the room anywhere! Did yours have wireless internet? Try Block D 7F. But beware of the grumpy old men.........
P.S: If you're ever in HK again check out Cute Fei Vegetarian Restaurant on Humphreys Avenue. Great staff, Delicious food
Thanks Thanks for your very interesting stories and the warnings about Cambodia. It makes me sad to read about the thieving going on at the beach and hotels. I travel to Asia frequently and your blog makes me aware that I need to be more careful, it is easy to get into a comfort zone.
alcohol .. at the risk of sounding like donna's parents.. please lay off the alcohol for a while i'm getting a bit concerned for your health and well-being. stay healthy guys. we love what you do and we want you safe and well.
Oh dear! Shame to hear your recent report of Cambodia was not great.. super helpful to know about what they try to get away with though, we will def. remember this when we are there (in about a years time!!!) x
a shame Yay. You're back.
But boo. This really sucks. I loved Cambodia - and S'Ville - when I was there two years ago. I was particularly fond of the people. Sigh, all good things come to an end.
Hope you and Neil have fully recovered. And I hope your next stop is more positive.
warp speed bus your video of the bus in warpspeed made me laugh to tears. thank you for the video, it brought back my childhood memories growing up in negros/cebu.
Take an umbrella Yes ...we stayed at Dano's but if you are going in June we would recommend you take a strong umbrella and some waterproofs. Chances are you will either experience th edge of a typhoon or the southern monsoons!
Malaria danger sounds like you had a nice time in Palawan, unfortunately my wife and I weren't so fortunate. She contracted malaria and almost died, she now has to live with malaria and the chance that it could come back. I just wanted everyone to be aware of this danger. Cheers.
not tired of writing! no this isn't our last blog entry, we are now just visiting places we have already been to and think to write more blogs about these places aren't necessary! As soon as we get to somewhere new we will be publishing a blog.
Thanks for reading.
We saved for 3 years and then went Hoff to travel the world. Chris Columbus and Magellan eat your heart out...do you reckon other people will have already discovered the places we are going to? You bet!
About Us
Neil, originally from Hartlepool, UK and Donna, originally from the Wirral, UK have known each other for 19 years. We bought a house, got cushy jobs in Nottingham and always had a passion to travel and see what more was out there in the big wide world (sounds corny or what?). The opportunity came when we were both made redundant and given nice r... full info
