Amuse Bouche
What a fun read this was. I am taking it as an Amuse Bouche, the free appetizer sent from the kitchen before a grand dining experience. It has whetted my appetite for the gritty, wild Africa blogs I will soon be devouring. Thanks for writing such a nice blog of your time in WA.

Tulips a plenty

Summer!
Ah these happy summer colours made my (grey) day! And that red tulip made me smile :)

Spending time with you two is like coming home
It was a great coincidence that we were in Seattle at the same time. Maybe there's no such thing as coincidence. All of our dinners together and field trips to tulips and Deception pass. Recounting our shared adventures with the lost luggage in Italy and the earthquakes in Mandalay. Philosophizing about life and all it has to offer. You guys are great friends! Who knows where we'll meet up next :-)

Hi Dave and Merry Jo,
Memories. Life is full of ‘em. And delightful Washington! But returning often disappoints. Best to keep them in your pocket and bring them out on special occasions! A nicely written piece, thank you for that. What is most important, is to enjoy the moment - two of them are never the same. Go - make some memories. They are not always the happiest ones, but part of life’s little jigsaw! David

Sleepless in Seattle
Indeed it has been my favourite movie from yesteryear. I didn't know you have moved to Seattle and Tacoma from Florida. You have been close to my heart always, now happy to have you both close to our home in Calgary. I love Seattle, been there a few times for many reasons,- business tours, en-route, layover...you name it. It's a lovely city, I love it. Nice narration Dave & MJ. And you have summarized it well...a place is always characterized by its people...my mantra...in your case they are your friends and friends are for ever. Enjoy your stay!

Wonderful region and beautiful pics!
Your post and pictures brought back memories of this beautiful region. I went to Lake Como, Milan, and Bergamo with my parents when I was a girl. Would love to go back, your story and pics really inspired me to do so. Thanks!

Switzerland
Bill, no I don't have a guide recommendation. We explored on our own. A fantastic trip.

Armenia
About the only benefit of the crappy weather you guys have dished up for our US visit is that it has given me lots of time indoors to read travel blogs. I thoroughly enjoyed trading yours and your ‘dancing’ namesake’s narratives and pics on Armenia, as I have a trip planned to the Caucasus this June. I will take it as a challenge if I can pen as interesting a description when that time comes.

Armenia
Glad you enjoyed the blogs ... certainly the U.S. thought you needed some additional reading time and served you up some interesting weather. Looking forward to reading your Caucasus blogs.

Thank You!
As always, your blog inspires and educations in the most delightful way. Happy New Year! Happy Trails! Safe Travels! Looking forward to your next adventure!

Thank you Joanne
We have not heard from you in awhile. Glad you had time to read one of our blogs. We did a bit of traveling off the beaten path this year. We had a good time. Enjoying reading your current warm weather adventure. We live in Florida now so hopefully we can meet sooner than later. MJ

Ah Iceland...
...great post guys, brought back many great memories...we too rank Iceland among the top of our list of destinations, really hard to put my finger on it but it somehow it just grabbed hold of me and really hasn't let go...will hopefully make it back some day, we didn't see the northwest and would really like to explore more around Vik...and agreed, Reykjavik is just plain cool...we stayed one night at the same hotel at the Blue Lagoon (night before we left to come home, figured we would treat ourselves and it was closer to the airport) and loved the private thermal pool (despite the enormous cost to stay there!). BL seemed destined to become an overcrowded tourist trap, it was busy when we were there in September, but still cool to see once...cheers! Jeff

Ah Iceland....
Iceland does something to you. It is so unusual it leaves you wanting more. You must go back and see the NW. Glad you experienced the hotel next door. It was amazing and made us happy even on our second trip. Keep traveling.

ohh no!
OMG I did not know that she past. I was absent from travelblog for more than half a year. She was one those who always commented on my entries. Rest in peace Tara! :'(

Ohh no.
Yes it was a shock to all of us. Tara was in all of our lives. She embraced the traveling spirit.

Gotta love Iceland
Iceland tops my list of favourite destinations too. I'm a Geography teacher so you'd understand where I'm coming from. Very nice to read that you had a chance to stop there again on your way back home :)

Hello Elton,
Great hearing from you again. It was good going back to Iceland. It is an amazing country.

Ilulissat travel experience
Thank you for a very nice article of your Ilulissat travel. Much appreciate if you could advise me the name/email contact of the local agent (in Illulissat) that organised the trip to Eqi Glacier with overnight stay in Eqi Ice camp.

Ilulissat travel experience
I used a local U.S. travel agent who has sense retired. I would think any vendor in Greenland could assist. It was an amazing experience.

We also loved Iceland
We also loved Iceland. It was the last trip we did before we joined TB so we don't have any blog entry from there (but our mascots actually have one (https://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Iceland/blog-118494.html). They had their own blog for a while). We will go back in the future and we already look forward to it. /Ake
