Friday was a slow day. I worked in the morning then we met up with Tim and Nicky for a long slow lunch at the wine bar. It was good and we had some good wines. Nicky and Tim then took off to their minister's house for a Good Friday get together and Patty and I headed into old town. Our plan was to go to the Picasso museum and we got in line but after about 10 minutes they came buy and said it would be another hour before we even got in.... Wed morning we took the early subway to La Sagrada Familia. We had bought tickets online so we wouldn't have to wait in the line. It was so cold and the wind was blowing. We were outside for a bit still waiting in lines to get in, then lines to get our audio guide. We listened to #1 and #2 (outside ones) after getting inside so we could warm up. There seems to be more construction equipment than the last time I was here. But, the biggest difference is the stained glass. So much more of it has been completed. I just love the colors. We leave the hotel and head to the Metro to get us to the train station. We thought about stopping for a pastry along the way but it was a good thing we didn’t. By the time we hit the train station it was time to board and we rushed. We made it to the train but someone was sitting in some of our seats. We found other seats but then 2 of them were someone else’s. Eventually we got seats but the train was FULL. 30+ minutes later we arrive in Toledo (Pronounced Toe la do). We walk up to the old bridge and cross and work our way up the hill. We had breakfast as our same little pastry shop them walked around the “flea market” junk sale in the square. There was one book’s salesman that really wanted to sell us some books. Tim really like him. We returned to our hotel, finished packing and then got a cab to the train station. Well, you know it’s bad when you know enough Spanish to know that the kids are talking about you but not enough to know what they are saying. “mucho Americano’s dos” then blabber, blabber, blabber to the taxi driver. We still don’t know what the blabber was. We arrived at the train station early and found a seat and continued chatting. Our train was quick and quiet and we arrived in Madrid.
