Biscuit Takes the Cake
It is a LOT underwhelming if a buttermilk biscuit is the dish of the day (although I do love a good buttermilk biscuit). I hope the food gets better, and thanks for reminding me about Ed’s lobster rolls. I really want one now.

I laughed over your canoe escapades! It sounds like you had an enjoyable weekend. I agree that bugs can definitely dampen an outing! I was crossing my fingers for you as you went to your final dinner! So glad that it was memorable and enjoyable!

I’m trying to take notes on everything. Is this place on a route that Jeff and I might drive in our RV to “See the colors” one autumn in the future? The food sounds lovely, even for someone without a refined palate (like me).

No Such thing ad Enough Gravy
Wow! Charleston sounds like a must see. Thanks for the vivid details. Dinner sounds wonderful, and I would have probably been asking for a second helping of cornbread dressing (that was about one-third of my plate at our dinner). Loved the picture of Tarragon on the bed and reference to opera at the Met (that’s on the agenda for our October 2020 visit to NYC and Philly).

Chris and Jerry, I love that you think to remember me when you travel! It almost makes me feel as if I’m with you, which would b fun. From the description of the trains, food and hotels I am in awe. ON TO AIX
Aix is where my DIL Kacy studied abroad for a semester. She recommends crepes at “the place under the road.” This means NOTHING to me, but hopefully it will mean something to you. I’m going to share your blogs on that part of the trip with her. I hope that’s okay. I know she loved it there (she was a French major, taking translation while she studied at the college in Aix but her true love is lighting and stage design).

Silly Criminals
First, I love the picture of The King. Your description was great, too. I could totally picture his boredom. Also, I can’t believe someone thought you would be an easy target. Man oh man! I’m glad you and Jerry dealt with the duo of thieves. Who knows if the two were undercover agents or a pair posing as them to diffuse the situation? Anyway, you showed them! And, I’m looking forward to the horse photos :)

Strawberries
Good to know that some place has fresh strawberries nearly as good as Oregon! I'm sure that you were missing the days of picking them yourself! The weather sounds lovely! So happy to hear you are having an enjoyable time! You must be doing well with all of the walking.

So Jealous
You mentioned earlier in the trip that you weren’t getting as many comments, I tried to comment several times and couldn’t. The error told me “You can only comment on published blogs.” Um...okay. It IS published or I wouldn’t have been able to read it. So...I don’t think it was the quality of the blogs (although I noticed the spelling errors have increased *wink, wink*) I am sad I didn’t get to travel to Italy this year, but we will go in 2019. When I visit at the end of summer, we’ll have to make a list of must-see things. I’m taking the SIstine Chapel off the list, and I might even forego Rome on this first trip. I really want to see Florence and Venice and if we only have ten days...So, be thinking about the must-see Italian sites. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Worn steps
Imagine how many people have climbed tbose steps to wear them down like that! Mind boggling!
