Boston has been our favourite place so far - very much a Uni town with a really good feel. We spent a total of four days exploring the place and seeing the sights, but it must have rained on a least two of these days. We've learnt that a lot of America's history is based around this part of the country and almost always has something to do with the British. Either us invading or the Americans trying to get rid of us. On the day we arrived we spent the afternoon doing washing (this really made us feel like we were back at uni) and went out for dinner at a Vietnamese resturant and finishing the night off watching the Red Sox getting spanked by Kansas City in a bar. Hi all, We've just had our first full day in Washington and we're knackered!! We've done a lot of walking today - been to the White House, Capitol Hill, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial and the Smithsonian Museums, finishing the day off at a Sushi bar. Tomorrow we plan to do Arlington Cemetery, the Pentagon and the Zoo before heading onto New York on Friday! Hostel life is going well - not too many weirdos! Are in a 6 bed dorm but haven't met the others yet! Breakfast is only $1 (50p) but Chris got told off for not using tongs to pick up his bagel!!!! Haven't had any problems with jetlag so far but plenty more time zones to go through!! We will upload pictures as soon as we work out how to!!! So long for ... read more
