Photos I cannot believe how beautifully breathtaking your photos are. So so stunning. Are you guys professional photographers or just very talented? I went to Iguassu a few years ago, but only had a point and shoot camera, so your pictures really put mine to shame. Please publish a book or calendar with your best photos. :-)
Unfortunately not... we're not professional, just have enough opportunity to practice at the moment in beautiful places such as Iguacu! Thanks for your kind words.
Off the beaten track! It is always good to go to a country that others ignore. And you were rewarded by finding a few interesting things. The ride in the country sounded lovely. Thanks for writing the story.
Thanks for reading it! We just wish we could have more time to "find" other interesting things. It's a country that you need to dedicate a lot of time to to really get the most out of it. More than very, very basic Spanish would help too...
Thank you! It was top of ours too! Now it's been replaced with Bhutan (for me, Amy). I'm sure you'll love Nepal, we did. It's no wonder people keep going back time and again.
Thank you so much for sharing this. I have always wanted to travel to South America and reading this only makes me want to go there even more! Your blog is so informative yet easy to read. Your pictures are all so beautiful. It makes Paraguay look like one of the most beautiful places in the world!
green with envy we have just been looking at your latest blog, we are sat here in rainy england admiring all your lovely photo's lots of ooing n awing going on, wish we were there. the both of you look healthy and well, take care stay safe, miss you so much love jue n nan xxxx
Sorry! Amy Foster,
I'm sorry to be sending this so long into your travels. I am a truly dreadful friend.
The truth is I think about you two, and how you're getting on, all the time but I'm too bone idle to google this blog and leave some kind of comment. Anyway, I'm here now, and thoroughly impressed with how you're living your life; with a depth and purpose most people are scared to go looking for, let alone find.
Two conversations I had this week prompted me to come and find you; one informing me that you're brandishing your (outstanding!) photographs all over Facebook and the other informing me that you were asking after me. Forgive me?
I've subscribed to, and looked through, this blog and I have to say I found it overwhelming. If the pictures bring a tear to my eye then it is surely your words that make it fall to my cheek. I simultaneously feel there with you, and a million miles away dying for adventure- You rascal!
How are you? How is Chris? When are you coming home? etc. etc. etc.
Lots of love,
John xx
I NOW UNDERSTAND In an ethereal land there was MichealnFaye...then ThreeFifty...and now joining them Chris & Amy...I will watch your development with interest.
Toucans.... Completely understand your fascination with these beautiful birds!!!! We spent two days at the falls looking for them as to us they were a symbol that we were both in the 'rainforest' and also in S.America. We even convinced each other that the black dot sized silhouette we spotted was one to keep us happy. Luckily on our second day we spotted a couple up a tree as we were leaving, we would have walked straight past them if it wasn't for a group of Japanese peeps crowding around excitingly taking photos... God bless the Japanese!!! :)
Brazil.... Your writing and of course, the awesome photography, are really making me want to go to Brazil! Wow! I wonder if I took back my $1,100 shoes, if I could afford it? ;)
OK, but... Excellent pictures. The Iguazú Falls are in the limit of Argentina and Brazil. The Iguazú National Park belongs to Argentina. When you are in the balcony watching the Falls to what is known as the Garganta del Diablo you are in Argentina. That is not Brazil. I am from Argentina and although I am NOT a nationalist, I think it´s very important to make it clear. Hugs. Graciela.
Blog Comment I loved how your blog has such rich detail about the culture and the environment of South America.
It sounds like you have had an amazing experience and are loving every minute of it.
Your use of photography in the blog is amazing, you have really captured the natural beauty in this environment and it really communicates how beautiful the world really is.
We are Amy and Chris. After completing our first attempt at a round the world trip in 2012, we are currently fitting in careers around our enduring need to see the world.
Our blog is primarily for family and friends, but we are always flattered to learn that others have read (and on occasion even enjoyed) our writing and photographs. With that said...
Afoot and light hearted, I take to the open road. Healthy, free, the world before me.
The long brown path before me leading wherever I choose...you road I enter upon and
