Sorry for the late reply Its the first time we've had decent internet connection consistently for a while. Yeah, our original question was posted when we were still in Malaysia heading down to Singapore, and obviously we went back on ourseleves back up to Thailand. The original plan was to head down into Indonesia but we dont have the time on this current trip and we want to give Indonesia enough time to see such a large country! Hence going back up north from Singapore.
Confused I gues you posted your forum questions about travel from SIngapore to Bangkok when you were in Singapore, and posted these blogs late. I was confused why you would return to Singapore if you hit KL on you way to Thailand. All will be revealed, as they say.
Cameron Highlands Dear Chris and Amy,
I'm glad you took the bus option, instread of flying directly to Chiang Mai, as you are stopping along the way. I previously thought you were going to travel non-stop. And I am especially pleased that you chose to visit the Cameron Highlands, and that you enjoyed your time there. I went to high school there from January 1966 to June 1968, and shared many of your experiences; namely the hike past Robinson Falls to the tea planatations. Only I was in the role of the Fox in "Fox and Hounds" and the elementary school kids were the Hounds. We also looked for the missing Jim Thompson for three days, and am amazed that we didn't get lost in the jungle. I enjoyed the cool temperatures, but the humidity is still high. I hope you have a chance to read my blog of my time there.
Thank you! Thank you all for reading our blog and your kind comments!
Nate and Jessie, Chris and I have both been following your blog... I refered to it quite a lot when travelling in Thailand and found it very useful. And Chris mentioned that there was another couple on Travelblog taking a very similar trip to us through Malaysia. I hope you've enjoyed it as much as we have!! Where to next? We're heading to KL tomorrow. Sadly, I wouldn't know a hump head parrot fish if it smacked me in the face, to be honest! So probably not! Take care and happy travels!!
Love the Perhentians! Sounds like you two had a similar experience on Kecil. We stayed at Coral Bay and had many critters in our chalet (check out our blog for more details)...doesn't sound quite as bad as yours though with no electricity and running water! We have to say the snorkeling was the best we have ever seen and we loved every minute of our time on the island! Did you get a chance to see the huge hump head parrot fish to the north of the jetty on Long Beach? Amazing!

We are Amy and Chris. After completing our first attempt at a round the world trip in 2012, we are currently fitting in careers around our enduring need to see the world.
Our blog is primarily for family and friends, but we are always flattered to learn that others have read (and on occasion even enjoyed) our writing and photographs. With that said...
Afoot and light hearted, I take to the open road. Healthy, free, the world before me.
