It was hard to look away!
haha. We arrived in Brazil on the 18th April, but we're off to Paraguay tomorrow. Its a shame to spend such a short time in Brazil as the country and the people are amazing - definately a place we will revisit in the future. However, we need to be a little cautious with the budget to make sure we finish our trip, which we're hoping to end in Mexico. Basically we're hoping to do all but four of the South American countries (except Venezuela, Suriname and a couple others up that way) and central america and up the carribean coast of Mexico...but we'll see how the money goes! (We're keeping tabs on some of those blogs you mentioned and hopefully we cross paths with some of those guys along the way!)

Thanks! Your blog was so well written I could smell the exotic poverty - I dont know that I could do any time in India for the reasons you mentioned, but through your blog I can see why people go there. Looking forward to your next blog :)

Its a great place
somewhere we both want to go back to. There is a definite tourist circuit there but still an enjoyable place. I think when I (Chris) go back, I want to do the Mustang Valley...its off the beaten track a bit but permits are expensive ($50US per day!)

Hefferlumps!
Love your pics of the elephants...or hefferlumps as Donna always calls them. It\'s good to hear that they are being treated well there in Chitwan and nice to see elephants still with their tusks, something you don\'t see all that often in Asia.

It is rare to see the tusks
We always feel a bit guilty on the elephants...they really are beautiful creatures and its horrible to think they are too often mistreated

Ha, now that's a challenge from Shane...can you imagine the look on the embassy staff's face if you did use that pic for your application?! Seems like you had great fun during Holi, the pictures really capture the fun and excitement on the face of the kids.

Wow, what a contrast to India. How do you get over the culture shock, except to think you have died and gone to heaven...it helps to have Christ the Redeemer looking over all to complete the picture. Your pictures are great as ever. However, you must have been too busy looking to take some pictures. I am looking forward to your trip in South America.
