Amazing! I can't believe you've travelled so far and for so long, and alone most of the time. I told KC that I enjoy reading your blog because it's something I will never do. So I can only experience it vicariously via your blog.
And oooh, those tears...that I think I can empathise.
Take care!
congratulations!!!! You have finally made it! We are proud of your achievement, I don't think I can do that, but I am sure I can do it at a much shorter time than you did, kekeke. 3 months, time really flies.
Be careful in SA, that may be the most dangerous place in your entire journey. Unlike the other ulu places you have visited, where people are more simple in their lives. Cape Town is like New York in the past, or the present Shenzhen, people are hungry yet they have no other avenues but to do vices to achieve what they want.
On the homepage, its really amazing to see that red region you had travelled on the African continent, crossed the Tropic of Cancer, crossed the Equator and crossed the Tropic of Capricorn... very well said. BRAVO!
OK, see you soon. Do be extra careful.
Very good, useful blog! Hey,
Your blog is full of good, practical tips to help me plan my trip. Basically I'll be following in your footsteps in a couple of weeks - and I'll try to avoid your mistakes - like the money-changing trick! Thanks for your reports.
Hank in Bangkok
3 months is nothing! Tell dad that during my travels.. I've met a Korean who has been travelling for 16months.. an American who has been travelling for a year.. and an Egyptian who has been travelling for 3 years! (record holder for me so far).. SO 3 months is nothing =) haha.. yah.. i think i get the message from dad =)
yeah, saw that cafe on the Google Earth as well :-) Dad just commented that he had never heard people going for a tour that lasts 3 months, never .... haha, it carries a message.
Money No Problem Ahhhh, you spend money. Nevermind! Cos must enjoy while you're there. The desert awaits you in Dubai. Then you want safari oso dun have. So follow your every whim and fancy. Heh heh. But come back in one piece. With gugujiao attached.
you did all the dangerous stuffs today... ... chanlege the local money changer and the bungee jumping. I wonder if the Google translator is able to convey your stunts in Chinese well. I am sure dad will not be that adventurous.
erm.. backpackers are still tourists.. and backpackers also go see taj mahal and eiffel tower and machu pichu and merlion spew water and other touristy sites.. backpacking is just a shoestring way of travelling.. and from east africa southwards.. most of the places are already developed in tourism.. not all african countries are like sudan and ethiopia..
the lioness thing may be an upload glitch.. will check.. thanks!
Aims and Results Bro, just my personal opinion. You said that you embarked on this trip in the backpacker's way so that you can go out hitting the ground and be one with the locals. However, your pictures show the touristy photographs. Feels like I am looking at typical shots taken by a tourist, not an adventurer. Maybe you chose to convey that through your posts? But it would be nice to see a different side of your journey instead of just reading about it. Dun "niao" me hor! I only share my feelings with you mah! Heh heh...
And also, you named one of your photopgraphs as "Close up of lioness" (http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Tanzania/Ngorongoro-Crater/blog-165458-21.html)
First, there were two of them but secondly and more importantly, I don't think lionesses have spots... :/
Oops.. Lost some comments In updating this blog entry.. i forgot to transfer 2 comments that were added in the previous version.. one was from Sara Claire Kicks Ass... haha.. yah.. it's been 2 months already! and yes.. i'm missing home family friends.. hope SC is settling down fine in the new environement and continues to kick ass!!
And Mr Psycho.. i think you will be interested in the chiclids.. freshwater aquarium fishes.. very nice.. but freshwater.. so maybe you no like..
Sounds like.... Phuket Nice nice nice...! The plantation tour, the dives, etc! Sounds like fun... but in a way also sounds like Phuket. Join the Siam Safari, ride elephant, ride ox cart, go canoeing, see rubber tappingm see fruit trees. Somehow, the ang mohs always like mountain tortoise never see before even though there are a lot of orchard homestays in Australia that even have the mysterious miracle fruit. You very studious. Go diving still bring dive chart. Really is not forget your engineering background. Tried drift diving once in Phuket with strong currents and it feels like you are using DPV. Shiokz! But must have good control but won't be able to make superman pose lah. Funny thing is that you will see the fish also fight against the current and bob up and down with the waves/current (relative to the rocks). Wonder if they get motion sickness... ...
Make the Best out of this Moment Your mummy will weep if she read this : )

Ahhh Ahhh, I come back liao. Reading your blogs. I wish I with you travelling. But for sure you need bigger budget heeheehee. And life insurance. And need to stop me from doing stoopid things. But it would've been an experience and a milestone in our relationship *hugz*
Gay enough?
:D
Good point I'm not entirely sure, but I have heard of some africans who ended up in india during those times, but I'm sure also that the amounts of people who came to kenya and the ones who went from kenya to india are disproportionate...it could also be, like you said, because of the goods and stuff...so I'm not really sure...anywayz, look forward to the next entry
Tanzania I like Tanzania better than Masaai Mara, because you see more games in Tanzania.
Don't change Zimbabwe dollars , they are useless.

I have not watch big long today before.. so i dunno if he's the lead.. but he's quite cute.. but very hiao.. hehe.. for those drooling out there.. he changed his shorts on the dhow.. and i saw everything.. haha.. very stressed taking his shots actually.. but with the camera clicking, and him posing in so many different poses in constant fluid motion.. i feel like those professional photographers.. ;p
OMG! OMG! Is he the lead actor? He looks quite cute from the pictures leh. Any close up? Wah, you actually photographed a celebrity! You are a celebrity photographer! WOO HOO!
