Chaz Diver Mexico

I am a Psychology Graduate who is working in a school to gain experience to be a teacher. But my life long dream has been to be a diver. I thought If I don't do it now, I never will. So I am going to Mexico where I will undertake several Diving Qualifications as well as a BTEC in Marine Biology.

I am a lively lad who is very keen to travel. Will only be able to write on this Blog once a week due to internet access, but hopefully it will be entertaining to all.

Hello everyone! Another busy week here in Pez Maya! The week started off with our good bye party for the 5 weekers. This was our Face/body painting party. I have uploaded some pics of what people looked like, and I think sam will reconise the design I went for, especially the mark on the neck. We all had a great time as usual and I ended up sleeping in a Hammock, wrapped completely in my big mexican blanket. Sunday and monday blurred together with a few trips into Tulum and a bit of homesickness but its all good now. Tuesday we got into the water again, more spotting and hopefully next week I will be ready for monitering. We had a bit of a crisis on wednes day as one of our boats, Vision, her engine ... read more

Hello all Well its been another eventful week here in Mexico! Started out on Sat with a meal, which was really nice and finished off in a Cuban Cafe which was a nice way to end the evening. I spoke to most of you on sunday which was a great chance to just chill in Tulum, writing some of my BTEC work in a cafe, under the mexican sun. Monday was a great day as the sea was as smooth as glass. It was the perfect conditions for diving. I went out on the first dive of the day (a deep dive) and I could see so far. It was like swiming in liquid crystal (if that makes any sense). The deep dives are fun as you get to see some very cool stuff, inculding a ... read more

Hello all!! First off, there are no photos for this week as The Inet cafe I am using cannot upload them. I may get one or two through, but will update next week hopefully. This has been a slightly dull week. On Weds, Thurs and Fri we couldnt dive due to bad weather still. The full moon over here is playing with the tides like no ends. Becuase of that, our free time on sat was taken up by more diving. But its getting better. After my dive today its seems I´m starting to become real good. My bouency is almost perfect and I am using less and lesss oxygen each time. I just have to work on my spotting, my record is not great at the mo. I also want to take the Rescue Diver ... read more

What another week! These weeks are really zooming by. We started with saturaday night as a Toga party as one of our staff was 25! That was a fun night, lots of drinking and dancing lol. I have some photos hopefully going up but as I have said before, I am working with a rubbish computer. The week started great as we dived for the first 2 days, but then rough weather stopped us from diving on weds and thurs. Thurs was great though as we all got to go to the Mayan ruins. Again lots of photos and no where near enough time. Friday and sat we managed to get more diving and I finished my Open Water, so I am now a certified diver!! I also passed my coral test so Im ready to ... read more

Well this is it!! I have been here just over a week and SOOO much has happened!! First of, the plane trip. It actually went better than what most people who I met here have experienced. No problems with connections or flights or anything. It was just a really long trip that I stayed awake for the entire time. When I got here, I was met at the Airport which was what I expected and GVI took us to our respective hotels for the night. Mine was nice, cool and lots of room. I was just happy to get a nice bed. Little did I know it was going to be the most Comfy bed I would sleep in for a while. The next day I went to Hotel Colorado where I met the rest of ... read more

Day 0 Just finished all my preparations. My pack is a little over 16kgs and with some lovely Fins on the outside. All I have left to do now is just enjoy my last day in England with Laura and my Family. Hopefully will be taking lots of photos of me on the flight tomorrow, but as its snowing all over the UK, I doubt they will be of me with a happy face :-(. They say that Heathrow is still running, but to expect delays and possibly cancellations. As Sam said yesterday, if my plane gets delayed to the point where I didn't need to spend £40 on a Hotel in Playa Del Carman I will not be impressed lol. But what ever happens, Mexico, here I come!!... read more
