We arrived here around10pm and it was dark, we were searching around for a camping spot when Brad remembered that he used to camp at Trialbay Jail. This is situated next to the oldest jail in Australia but onto of the beach it was so beautiful. We set up camp and chilled out listening the crashing waves it was the best nights sleep I had had in a while. We got up well early 4.30am to be precise to watch the sunrise and to beat the ranger, as this campsite was very expensive, of course the views were great. We climbed [View Full Entry]

Surffers paradise Oceania » Australia » Queensland » Gold Coast
We set of quite early and our first port off call was Surfers Paradise, nothing like what I expected. The beach is so built up with high rise hotels and apartment blocks. About 4pm the sun disappears from the beach because of all of the high rise buildings. The sun did not have its hat on for us so I think this is why it did not seem so lovely, so we headed off for some breakie. Great feed $10 all you can eat and we ate loads, cooked breakfast, pancakes, fruit & yogurt & toast, after this the sun had [View Full Entry]

1 day in the city Oceania » Australia » Queensland » Brisbane
We headed back up the coast to visit the city of Brisbane. We set up camp ten headed to the bus stop to catch a ride into town. $8.50 and you can use the bus, train & river boat, we started on the bus until we got to the nearest train station then jumped on, only 6 stops and we arrived into the heart of town. I forgot what it was like to be in a city, lots of busy miserable people in a rush. We decided the best way to see the city was from the water so on we [View Full Entry]

Today was an awesome day we headed of to the Australia Zoo, the home to all of Steve Irwins animals. It was massive with many great shows throughout the day. Im so glad we got their early because at 10am we hand fed the elephants that had been rescued from a travelling circus many years ago. Then off to explore the rest of the zoo. I could not believe how massive some of the crocs were, most of them were in pairs as the male needed his woman, it was said the crocs are very territorial, some of them just [View Full Entry]

We set off very earlie today as we need to be in town to meet a lady about picking tomatoes. Bad has a swollen mouth so the drugs he is taking does not allow him to drive, so yes its girl power all the way today, the weather is miserable none stop rain, so as you can imagine we are so not up for camping. On arrival we headed straight for a camp site to ask if they had a cabin, and as luck would have it they did so we stayed the night in comfort, just as well as it [View Full Entry]

Mission Beach Oceania » Australia » Queensland » Mission Beach
This was a fun weekend the first time I have been camping without rain, infact it was so hot in thier I hardly had any sleep. Myself and Kat arrived not long after 7am as we set off at 5am so we could watch the sun rise, but due to trhe clouds we did not get to see the sun rise so we really did not need to get up and travel that early. The camp site was 4* so the erection was about start, on the tent. Kat having worked in the navy had the erection nearly complete by the [View Full Entry]

I have had 2 more great days out on the Barrier Reef, Shelly finished work on Weds so on Thurs we headed off on Compass Cruises to visit the reef, it cost us a pack of Bundi rum each such a cheap day. what a magical day it was a glass out so the reef and the fish looked amazing, 1st stop I was so pleased as soon as I got into the water I saw a turtle running for cover under the reef. their was lots of Nimos under thier scoles of black and white stripped fish. Well me and my house mate Kat haeded off on a road trip on Sunday night, we had to take the main roads as we were in a silly auto hired car, as her parents had taken hers up to Cook Town already. Kat's sister lives up thier so all borad and lodgings were taken care off. After 4 hours we arrivedand just chilled, as on the way up their is cattle and kangroos roming the main roads, yes this was scary as we had to slam on the break a few times to avoid trashing the car, as the cows [View Full Entry]

Of I go for 3 days to spend some time chilling out and admiring the most piecefull place ever, their are no phone cabels here which is nice and also the electricaty is ran from generaters. We set off on a coach with a crazy driver Viv, who left her folder on the roof of the bus before we had even left Cairns, so we had a pit stop at a cafe so she could get all the important stuff sent over by fax ops. Along the way we saw wild walabys that now live very close to the road side [View Full Entry]
