I ended up watching the elections (with great trepidation) in the local Chavista office while drinking copious amounts of cucuey with the leaders of the Chavista movement in the Falcón State. After all the people I´ve spoken with, the literature I´ve dug up and what I have seen of this country (albeit only in 3 weeks, so I´m FAR from an expert), I was actually finding myself hoping for the upset of the century, and for Chávez to lose.
