Welcome home! I just finished reading your entire trip - what an awesome experience. The photos add so much to the stories, and your descriptions were great. Thanks for taking the time to share so much of your adventure!
See you sometime soon!
Home sweet home Thanks for the offer of a ride, but I'm home now and plan to stay in my house as much as possible for at least the next 24 hours. Looking forward to catching up! BTW, we all know you're a softie and really like puppies and babies and little Clouded leopard cubbies, so you're the only one in denial! :)
are you home yet? Need a ride from the airport?
(I got behind in keeping up with your blog.... Nice cub pics, I'd say they were cute, but someone I know might see that.)

What an adventure!! We have been waiting for a message from Chris about you, Wendy. Then this morning I asked your Dad if he had checked the blog and he said "No". We had a lot of reading to do to catch up with you gals. We are so envious at all you are getting to do. Can't wait to hear more and see the pictures. Did you really eat bugs??? Love, Mom and Dad
Bug Eating and Fund Raising Hi Brynn - I can't believe that there are no comments on your bug eating adventures. I think you have missed an opportunity to get your readers to pledge contributions to the causes you have identified based upon the number of spicy legged creatures consumed. I know that I, for one, would have bet a fair sum that you would not be willingly eating the creepy-crawly things that you were anxious about encountering before you left for your trip! Take care!
The rangers sound great Bring home one will you please? I am tired of all the tote--ing and grunt work that I do.
Car battery died Saturday..and once prior to that a couple days ago.. and the computer has been a nightmare...3 hours here and three hours there getting on line...
Hencefore we are altapete1@msn.com
Wow! Just finally got a chance to sit down and read all of your entries. Thank you for sharing your amazing journey with us...sounds like the food and traffic might have been the most dangerous aspect so far! I sure hope you bring home some of that nice, yummy rice wine to share with your family! Hee hee! Have a safe return home, Brynn. Aunt Stace
Happy people and lovely colors All pictures came in right side up this time..easier to view. Love the one of Brynn with new friends. Will be watching and waitiing. Take care. Much love,
Grammie
Loved the photos/right side up (; Such colorful people and so happy appearing.
Glad to have the warning that you will be ought of reach ... until you return. Till then , you are in my thoughts and prayers.
My best to Karen and Wendy.

Tuk Tuk I assume that Tuk Tuk is the bigger-than-life fellow with all the scale--or tiles? Bet he has some story to tell. Of course I am intrigued by the little houses. I hope they have a happy background..or future? Perhaps they are meant for use by the turtles? My number one granddaughter looks lovely..as do Wendy and Karen..
Thanks! Thanks for all of the time you are putting into these posts Brynn -- it really is fun to follow along. I think you may have a future in writing adventure pieces for NPR / Nat'l Geograpic -- I can almost hear the sounds in the background as I read your posts. Just in case you are getting bored with the mundane wildlife over there, I saw a couple deer today! :) Hope your travels went smoothly!
Water Puppets Angela,
Glad you're enjoying it. We saw the Hanoi Water Puppet Theater last night and I thought of you. If they weren't so darn big and heavy, I'd bring one back for you. They're really cool looking - the puppeteers stand in the water behind a bamboo screen to move them around.
Off to Bangkok in a couple of hours!
Brynn
Dang, I can't believe you're leaving Hanoi already! I was just getting comfortable with the idea of you being there, getting all of us back in the States familiar with the area through your stories. Great details, btw. I'm keeping up with all your posts, and your stories and descriptions are fantastic.
Yummy! oh honey, you write with such energy and verve and fun! I am right there with you in that restaurant, sampling, enjoying, watching the four year old and wondering what the heck her little mind thinks and how fabulously it must blend all these quirky experiences into a sensible world. and they do. and we only wish we could lose ourselves and our grown up ways and just be There, in the moment, like that. I am so thrilled for you. write everything, experience everything, stretch yourself, this is an amazing time for you. much love, cousing Laurie (PS did I mention that I ate Balut in the Philipines, a sort of egg that hasn't been hatched yet but is basically mostly chicken in the shell, just because the locals wanted me to try it, and I wanted to be part of the moment....that maybe be the reason I am slightly addle brained at this time in my life, tee heee.... love you B
WOW! Brynn, I am so proud of you and all the good work you are doing for the zoo and for our little animal friends. Amazing journey over their in Viet Nam! I loved the description of the hospitality of the villagers who offered their best for you all. Good thing you're a vegetarian, eh? Have a great time in Thailand and I look forward to reading more.
Love,
Scott
Fascinating picture of the people Time has stood still, for them, has it not?
You haven't mentioned the weather? Is it warm there now? Australia was very warm when we were there this time of year..13 years ago.
I told you to boil everthing! Much love, Grammie and Grampie..the sleeping giant.
a la dictionnaire long tailed scale-covered mammal of the genus Manis of tropical Africa and Asia, having a long snout and a sticky tongue with which it catches and eats ants.
Sounds like a relative of an anteater?
Grammie and Grampie
Most interesting subject A fascinating peek into the city of Hanoi and it's citizens...
You did not mention the weather.. I assume that it is warm..Your contacts are most interesting and I am sure you will learn much from them regarding the animals of their country. Already, I am sympathizing with the bears...and the demand for bile! How terrible. for the poor animals.
Amazing Blogs Brynn - I am so happy Karen added me to your list of blog receivers! You describe all activites in such a picturesque way that I feel as if I am there. Thank you.
This is a travel blog to share with the friends of Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium. In December 2006, I will be traveling with a zookeeper and a zoo educator to Vietnam and Thailand to see the work of the Clouded Leopard Project, a great conservation project to preserve this mysterious cat.... full info
