MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM SARNIA Jeremy we sent you a letter in care of Sarah. hope you receive it ok. GREAT BLOG! Were looking forward to being at Barbara`s and Carolyn`s for Christmas and boxing day.Merry Christmas and happy travels in the New Year.
I miss Betsy! Haha, great blog...but even better road trip. Taking the bus is a lot different. It's funny doing this trip and passing through all the things you've already done and told me about. Yesterday I did the black water rafting thing (awesome!) and I did end up splurging for the Maori dinner which was also really well done. I'm glad I did it, but now I'm going to have to live under the Jeremy cheap rules...JK! Oh I've been meaning to tell you, I've seeing the same wood thing you bought all over the place for at least $20 more...you got a steal! Anyways, just wanted to say I really had a blast travelling together and tell you to have a great time with Sarah in Oz. As for your comment about me becoming a better person....I also noticed that in you... so much. Heather
Frolf Rutherford, thanks for the message...but even if I do lose to you in Frolf, I'll just be paying you back with your own money...from when I dominated you on your home course. Must have been embarrasing for a scratch golfer like yourself losing to me on your home course eh?Poker is EVERYWHERE here, its blowing up like it did in N.America about 4 years ago here and they have these automated "pokie" machines in every bar here that everyone is addicted to.
Frolf Hey Bonker,
the trip so far looks incredible and am glad to hear you are enjoying yourself and doing your thing....just thought I would let you know that there is FROLF in toronto!!! It is located on center island and the course is real nice (I have played it several times)...when you get back maybe we will play (thats the only version of golf you may actaully beat me in!!!!).....any poker down under??!!
James
What's up Bonkster...well I feel the need to leave a message. Each day I'm checkin in to see what else exists outside the 4 walls of Cintas (apparently lots) so I thought I'd just fire over a quick messages to say thanks for keepin a brother in the loop. AND, to return the favour, the leafs are on a 4 game losing streak..boourns. Ah well, it's Atlanta tonight and if by chance they lose, the victoria secret fashion show right after lol. Keep your stick on the ice...DG
Nice Entry My first mention on the internet... wow! I really don't like how Asian tourists take forever in airport customs, they really need translated entry and departure cards...
Happy you're still here even if that means I have to keep giving you money every birthday and Christmas What a story!!! Was it vaguely and perversely enjoyable in a "this is the most intense thing I have ever done or ever want to do"sort of way? I've been reading all your entries with delight and admiration. Traveling on the cheap is the greatest thing to do; even banal tasks become something of an adventure. It sounds like you are a natural at it. You roll very well with the punches-- this last stage was the equivalent of five rounds with Mohammed Ali though-- and so end up doing amazing things and meeting lots of people. When you're travelling, too, even not excessively interesting people become great. Assholes, however, remain assholes.
How much longer in Kiwi-country? Are you still doing the golfing thing in Indonesia or Thailand or wherever? I'll write again soon; the semester is almost at an end and the last month of it or so doesn't leave much time for anything. One thing, though, is that I would like to get you your XMas $ and the mini travel subsidy I gave to Ashleigh and Courtney. What's the best way to get it to you?
I miss you a lot, but I love reading about your adventures, especially because you describe them in a very amusing way. You are a great writer! Try to stay alive.
Love,
Paul
Glad to hear you guys are out and experiencing nature. Also glad to see you brought a rain poncho. I wasn't that lucky in Peru during my hike. Keep the posts coming. The pictures look awesome. Keep trekking and grow a beard or something. Don't head too far north and into southeast asia or i'll start to get jealous. You're living the dream buddy.
Raptors The raptors had a tough start at 4-9 but I have faith they will be able to do well this year. They look good but just cant close out games. CB4 isnt having the year I anticipated and Bargnani looks good one game and garbage hte next but thats a rookie for ya. Good old Leo said Bargnani is at this point better than what Novitsky was as a rook so a bold statment, just wish it wasnt from coach Routins. Anyway I figured if u wanted to know how the raps were doing, id be your inside man lol. Keep up the good times and the killer blog.
Peace, Bud
Sounds like you are having a real adventure Hi Jeremy; I forgot about your blog but then would remember during the day when I was at work but would forget when I got home ...
Just catching up on some of your adventures; overall it sounds like you are having a great experience. You must have heard by now that BC won the Grey Cup. It was a boring game and had a chance for some excitement but the Montreal back fumbled on the one and that was the end of it. It was a good tackle actually as the BC defender timed his catapult over the line at the perfect time and with precision accuracy hit the back just as he got the ball. Some big upsets in the NFL which is making the picks interesting. I am currently kicking your Dad's butt and would be yours also if you were in this year.
Anyway continue with the adventure and I will write again soon.
black water rafting Hi ya down under!
I'm glad you'rehaving fun! The black water rafting sounds kind of dangerous so I hope you were careful. I can't believe you ate possum pie... I think that's what they eat in the hillbilly hills of Kentucky! Well I am glad you are enjoying the wildlife. Last night I almost ran over a fox on Donnybrooke Drive and he was a beautiful one and boy could he leap!! I hope the hike goes well for 3 days on your own. Are you sleeping under the stars or did you find someone with a tent? It's too bad about the camera. I guess you'll have to take it in for repairs to a camera shop and stay in that city until the repairs are finished( 3 days or so). Bye handsome!
Hey Amy, great to hear from you. I'm really not wity, I actually pay someone to write this for me. Thats hilarious that Leanne is allergic to beer...but atleast she can drink Cider...Stronbows on my return? Anyways...get my email off my dad ( i dont want to post it here) and shoot me an email so we can catch up.
Salt Lake City Comon Marcus...did you say 3.2%??? obviously its only $2.....step it up big guy...hope you're doing well with the NFL pics...I have no clue whats goin on this year ...who's the team to beat?? Indi still undefeated?
Howdy stranger... Jer, it's Amy... long lost stepsister Amy. How are you?!?
Your dad passed along your blog to my mom... so you know, I am not a stalker. Sounds like you are having a wicked trip down under so far. And apparently you have become quite witty since I last saw you! Hmmm... I wonder who you got that from. *grin*
How long are you travelling for? When you get back, you'll have to catch up with Loni and I for a beer in T.dot... cider for Loni because she is allergic to beer (so sad!).
Anyways, I wanted you to know that I actually do read your postings (work gets a bit a bit boring from time to time), so I expect you to keep the entertainment flowing. No pressure!
Cheers,
Amy
I want to live in a barn too Ha ha a- who wouldn't want to live in a barn with 12 roommates - sounds a lot like Banff - only the cows and the pigs live closer to Calgary - and where the f@#$%%k did the saying "let's throw another shrimp on the barbie" come from - oh yeah "The Dukes of Hazzard" or should I say "Dukes of Jennifer Simpson" because that is the only reason anyone would sit through a movie like that -- good luck in Auckland.
hhHhHHaaa hey buddy trip sounds wicked, where yo to now....ahhhh newfie land is the bomb, i get drunk lots ahahhahaha verything here is backwards too its like the bizaro ontarion skhfks;;kh i ccan t thnk
Hey! Just thought I would start the comments since I'm probably the only one in a time zone that's awake to reply. It sounds like you're learning the travel trials and tribulations early on like me (ie. forgetting my bank card). In the end, it's dealing with all the things you wish you had known earlier that make the backpacking experience real. It's pretty handy that you're doing NZ first, I'm doing Oz and then we switch....makes for good travel advice. Well, I'm off to Fraser Island tomorrow for a 3 day 2 night camping trip...it's supposed to be an amazing tour. Have a great time on your tour and I'll look for your next blog when I get back. Take care and be careful hitch hiking!
