Continued along Gibb River Road to Bell Gorge. The rocks were very slippery in the water at Bell Gorge, if you took a step or two you just started sliding on your feet. Stayed at Windjana Gorge. Before we went to bed, we went to Tunnel Creek. We had to walk through some water and some people how had already been through it told us that they saw some freshwater crocs. It scared the horrors out of us. We had to have torches because it was as dark as midnight inside. Got up in the morning and went down to Windjana Gorge and saw 60+ crocs including a baby croc. It was only 20cm long. A bit further on was a croc with its open showing off its teeth. Ha, ha, very funny. I’m not going ... read more

Drove along Gibb River Road - wasn’t as bumpy as everyone had told us. Arrived at King Edward River Camp late. In the morning tried to catch some fish with a bucket. Had a swim, and then went kayaking down the river. Didn’t go past a spot where the rocks made it very shallow. Came back, had lunch and went down the river again as far as we could go. Next day packed up in the wind. Drove up to Mitchell Falls. Broke a shock on the camper on the way. Stayed there a night. Had to bush walk into Mitchell Falls, including climbing over 6ft high rocks. The Falls were nice. Had a swim above the falls, and then walked back. Drove back to Kalumburu Road and did another shock on the camper. Thought the ... read more

Arrived in Wyndham, saw a giant crocodile outside the post office and had a photo taken with me. Stayed the night and saw a Bush Donkey. Went back to Kununurra and looked around and stayed overnight there. Next morning got up at 5.30am went on the bus to take us to the airfield for our flight over the Bungle Bungles. Our pilot was good. Had fun on the flight. Didn’t have a hard touch down. That exact same day we drove to the Bungle Bungles and camped. The next morning had a look at Echidna Chasm. It was narrow - only 1 metre in spots. Got to Piccaninny Creek and looked at Cathedral Gorge. It had stagnant water. I found out that when you throw a rock in the oil film, sooner or later, the hole ... read more

We left Darwin on Saturday to go to Litchfield National Park. We camped at Buley Rockhole. It was nice down at the Rockhole. We went under the waterfall. There were about 12 rockholes that you could go in. Saw a snake about 1m long on the bank at the rockholes as we were leaving. Just looked at Florence Falls, but got to swim at Wangi Falls. There was a warm pool in the side of the rocks, next to the waterfall. It was like a bath. Headed down the 4WD track and crossed 3 creeks on the way to Surprise Creek Falls. It was deep in the plunge pool. There were some guys jumping in from the top, which was about 8m above the water. Would you do that? Headed off to Katherine to get some ... read more

Arrived in Darwin, looked around. Went to the Caravan Park and set up. Next day we relaxed at the caravan park, went into the pool. For tea we went to Stokes Wharf for Fish and Chips. Feed the fish that night - they were gigantic fish. Did not know what they were, except well fed fish. Went with Mum and Dad and looked around the shops for half a day and went to Mindil Beach market that night - and bought a didgeridoo. Relaxed the next day around the pool. Learnt about Cyclone Tracy at the Darwin Museum. Found out it was horrible to have lived through the experience. After that went to the Casino for lunch. I filled my stomach with yummy food and did not need to have tea that night. Finally go to ... read more

Left Rainbow Valley and went to see the Henbury Meteorites on the way to Ayers Rock. Saw a Wedge-tailed eagle on the side of the road eating a dead kangaroo. Saw Mt. Connor and stayed nearby at Curtin Springs. Got up at 5am and drove to Ayers Rock to see the sunrise. Spent the day around Uluru, had bad luck couldn’t climb the Rock because it was closed for strong winds at summit. Went to see the Olgas. I walked all the way of the Valley of the Winds walk with Dad. Looked around Yulara. Stayed around for sunset, then back to camp. In the morning there was an emu wandering around the camp, right next to my swag. The next day we rang up to see if the climb was open. We had luck, it ... read more

Had a quick look around Alice Springs while window got replaced. Headed off to East Macdonell Ranges. We had a look at Emily & Jessie Gaps and set up at Trephina Gorge. Went to N’Dhala Gorge for the afternoon and climbed the rocks in the riverbed. Next day went to Arltunga Historical Reserve and old gold mining town. Then on to Ruby Gap where we found Garnets. On the way back to camp we saw donkeys on the side of the road. The baby donkey was fuzzy. The day we left we climbed up Trephina Gorge and around the rim and back through the riverbed. Left to go to Rainbow Valley, got some firewood on the way. Got there, set up, and then saw the sunset. Lit the fire then cooked tea then went to bed. ... read more

Left Coober Pedy and had lunch at Oodnadatta. On the way to Dalhousie we had an unfriendly stone that broke the rear windscreen. Cleaned up the glass, tarped up the window and off we went. Got to Dalhousie. It was dark. Camped there. In the morning I went in the hot springs. Saw a dingo. Went to take a photo of it, and got about 20 photos of it in the end. Went to the ruins at Dalhousie. Took the Old Ghan Route to Chambers Pillar which is the same as the Finke to Alice Desert Race Track. Crossed the border into Northern Territory. Got to Chambers Pillar, set up and went to see the sunset. Took photos climbed up to see the signatures of the pioneers who used Chambers Pillar as a landmark on the ... read more

Looked at Brachina & Bunyeroo Gorges on the way out of Flinders Ranges. Looked at Leigh Creek the town that was moved 6km South of Copley from its original place of 6km North of Copley. The houses all looked the same. Went up the Oodnadatta Track. It was bumpy and there was nothing for miles. Stayed at Coward Springs for the night. It used to be a station on the Old Ghan Rail line. There were hot springs and the Station Master and Train Driver’s houses still standing that we looked at. Went through William Creek took a photo of the Golf Club - all dirt and sand. Not much else around, except a pub and caravan park. Arrived at Coober Pedy and went to the Old Timers Mine. Did a tour and saw how they ... read more
