Caution - while renting /vacating house in TEDA
Hi, its nice to read your narration. I lived in Aili Jia Yuan for about 3 years and 6 months in Block A4 paying RMB 5800 RMB rent +management fees, when I vacated recently I gave almost a prefect house completely cleaned and ready for next rental. The owner refused to pay back the advance, after a whole day of discussion in chinese she agreed to pay only 1000 CNY. I have been living in China for almost 11 years and this time I felt very bad to see this greedy lanlord. Have a pleasant stay in TEDA.

Way to go the [Bacon] Troops!
Borrowing from Max with this expression, you guys rock! Congrats on reminding us all of the centrality of bacon to fabulousness and your commitment to teaching your son the important things in life. I must also thank you for bringing this to our attention as we had BLTs for lunch -- I know it was only the second period but we did it in style :)

I was one of the 10, and this is indeed a great Fredericton eating experience. The food is delicious, Tina is lovely, and the authenticity is charming, and refreshing. Mandarin Palace is a great place for dinner!

Mr Poppers Penguins
I like these real shrubbery topiaries very much! Nice job! I just made a pair of Penguin Topiary for the new film from 20th Century Fox starring Jim Carey that will be in front of Tavern on the Green in Central Park. http://www.topiaryjoe.com

treat your self
Yes, this is a treat, having spent the last fornight in KL with my family, we ate this fish on most nights (we had a group of seven people) in Jalan Alor. Most of the shops have thjis fish and it is bueatiful to eat. It really tastes like chicken.

This palace reminds me of my teenage days. I livied within the palace grounds with my grand father Katari Narayanaswamy. My grandfather was the private secretary to the king. In my hind sight I can still see the King arriving to reside in the palace (His red turban, white attire and sun glasses.) What a majestic personality. Days have changed life goes on. I wish to state that my marriage was held within the compound.

GREAT CAPTURE OF THE EVENT!
I'm an american who works with chinese and have been invited to a chinese wedding. Thanks for capturing your experience. It is a good insight as to what to expect at the wedding. Your pictures depict you and your girlfriends in nicely colored dresses. The other dresses worn by the other chinese guests appear too plain, which i will now try to avoid. I'll try to wear red or gold! More importantly, now i know what to give as an appropriate gift $$!

my fave place!
Hi Ms Christie! Remember me? Cameron Highlands is one of my FAVOURITE places in Malaysia! Used to go there with my parents all the time; not into the jungle of course! Was the waterfall Lata Kinjang? Anyway, I'm glad you had a great time. Pictures look beautiful. Lianne

Hi Guys, Looks like a lovely long weekend - too bad you couldn't have come to Canada to cool off - we saw 6 inches of snow in Fort St John during our May long weekend! Love the photos Beth - esp. the night time ones in the Mossy Forest - the beetle shot is awesome!

my camera
Actually, last year I bought a digital SLR, a Nikon DX 40, and I am slowly getting around to figuring out its capabilities. I am pretty good at the really upclose shots, but still working on movement shots.

Your Christmas -
What a neat spot and what a rich Christmas. Thanks for passing it along. As we are now into the new year, let me wish you more neat adventures and safe journeys and a return trip home someday soon to meet cousins who would like to shake your hand and say thanks in person. Winter here. Ten below (I am an hour or so away from Max). Not much snow. Pretty boring. All the best from here to there - Barb

Hello!
Hello, you two! We have been enjoying your blogs...thanks! YOU have been enjoying yourselves! I'd like to try that weasel coffee, since I love coffee, but I think I'd rather not know how it came about until after I enjoyed it! We did a 10-week road trip of Canada this summer...fabulous! We went way up North to Inuvik and Tuktuyuktuk. We really enjoyed the Alaska Hwy. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and all the Best in 2009!!!
