Galway is a very nice city and the hostel we were staying in was really good. It is called Savoy Hostel and we were in a four bed dorm with two Americans. It had a huge shower in the ensuite bathroom. The common room was awesome with a nice kitchen and TV and pool area. Most importantly it was very clean and had free breakfast. First night we went on a pub crawl and met some new people. It was heaps of fun and the highlight had to be wiping the floor with two obnoxious New Zealanders in a game of beer pong. The next day we got up bright and early for a day tour around Burren National Park and the Cliffs of Moher. The national park is a UNESCO world heritage site and a ... read more

Got lost trying to find a bar because of the awful directions from the guy in the hostel. We got back and found some aussies to party with. They took us to this place called filthy mcnastys which was really empty. Until a whole bunch of college students rocked up for their formal after party. We had a great night partying with our new friends and a bunch of randoms. The next morning was a bit of a struggle as we hauled our hungover asses up at 8 in the morning for a tour at 10. We did a big day of Game of Thrones locations, crossing a rope bridge on to the island of Carrick-a-rede and most of all the giants causeway. It was so freaking pretty!! These rock formations created from lava and gradually ... read more

Train to Cork was a bit of a nightmare. We had to go all the way back to Dublin before going to Cork because of works on the train tracks. We didn't arrive till about 10.30pm so pretty much went straight to bed. The next day was Blarney Castle day! A short but ride from the city centre brought us to the village and a short walk brought us to the entrance of the castle. However what we thought was just a castle turned out to be an extensive property with beautiful gardens. We started off by exploring the castle which was awesome! We climbed up this tiny, narrow staircase that spiraled up the castle. We saw rooms off shooting from the staircase and they led to other rooms. Without the signs I'm are we would ... read more

Arrived in Waterfront and checked into our guest house. Went to the pub around the corner for dinner where we ate the most delicious bangers and mash ever! The gravy was amazing! We then went for a walk around town to see what was there. More than expected. Considering the only reason we were in Waterford was to take a photo outside the Tom Maher pub for Stevie we didn't know much about the place. At night what we could gather was an established and high quality shopping district and a port. In the morning we were on a hunt for breakfast. It was a Sunday and a bank holiday so not many places were open before 12. We found a hotel called the granview that was serving breakfast. Now I don't know if you can ... read more

We woke up in Dublin on the 30th not so bright eyed and bushy tailed as we fought our jet lag. We stayed at Abigails backpackers in an 8 bed female dorm. It was a really nice hostel with clean sheets, clean bathrooms and most importantly free breakfast! It was also conveniently close to every thing we wanted to do. Located by the river Liffy it was just a short walk to city hall where we began a free three hour walking tour around the city. Our tour guide, Conor, was born and raised in Dublin and was very proud about his city and his culture. As he took us around the sites he told us bits of history and anecdotes about each location. We saw the Dublin Castle where the English were made to wait ... read more

Here begins the next 3 and a half months of my life and I'm super excited! I also am currently trying to stuff too much into my bag while saying a solemn goodbye to my Netflix. I'm going to keep it short because I need to finish packing and eat an apple strudel, but I just want to welcome whoever is reading this to my blog and port of information about my trip! WELCOME! I'll try and post often but this is depending on my access to wifi. Follow the #wheretobext15 on Facebook and Instagram also!! Bye for now!! Bec... read more
