If you're staying in Los Angeles or visiting the Gran Canyon - both 5 to 6-hour driving - you must visit Las Vegas... You can do it in one day if you have already booked full stay in LA - like I did - or just to avoid paying expensive hotels in Las Vegas. We rented a car to hang around in LA and ended up deciding to go to Vegas almost a day before... We woke up early - around 7 AM...perhaps 8... - and took the quiet long Mojave Desert 5-hour journey to Vegas. There's not much to do in Vegas during day time besides casino gambling and sightseeing - this last activity is worth a while - we were 7 days in LA and only 1 in Vegas and a quarter of the ... read more

By far the trip of my life... I don't know how to put it in words, but the pictures I took speak by themselves...and they are about 5000 in 7 days... We started to plan this journey with the single intention of watching a Los Angeles Lakers basketball game... we've chosen the dates and bought the tickets and, for me, that was all... but my friend Nuno came up the idea of renting a car (wich I was against...driving in a foreign country didn't seem attractive to me...how wrong I was...) and went to see some places worth seeing, watch a live bad religion show, eventually drive a couple miles to Vegas..."yeah sure" I tought...lucky if we make it out of there alive...stupid tought... In seven days we got to see almost everything in Los Angeles ... read more

Hi there! Departured from Athens in a night ferry to Crete Island - single room with bed, privat bathroom, TV - 60eur round trip! Once you arrive at the Heraklion portyou can either go to the left side of the island, wich, forme, it's the best - Chania and Rethymno - or to the right side Lassithi... When we first got there it was a little bit disapointing because we were expecting those caribbean style endless white sand beaches and hollow water and istead we've got face to face with rocks at the beggining and dark sand latter... that's what you get when you plan your trip the cheapest way possible- we had to walk about 15 min. everyday to get to nearest beach, from our hotel... Despite all the disapointments on the arrival and after coming ... read more

Probably today's not the best time to visit Greece and Athens, but when we got there in August 2010, things were a little bit better (at least they didn't had yet to be rescued by the IMF)... I must confess I was expecting a much more antique and preserved city and ruins, but what can you do against the expantion and growth of cities? In Athens you can visit all the famous (and not so famous if you're not a Greek Mithology lover, like I am) monuments and pieces of art... You buy a single ticket with multiple tear parts and you get to visit almost all the attractions that are paid individually - it costed me 12eur, last summer. You get to see the temple of Athena (the Parthenon) - one important advise: take as ... read more

Oi there mate! Welcome to the land of the Queen! This trip was planned a few days before it happen and with very reduced budget, so, as you may figure, things didn't happen the way they supposed to be... at least during the flight and arrival... We flew on easy jet night flight, and, despite the fact that it was already a night flight, it was delayed... no big problem, except if the trains and metro to central London didn't close so early... So, if you're planning to go to London for a weekend, you may consider skipping work at friday, and depart in the morning, or perhaps you'll end up lost in som strange nieghbourhood at 4AM, raining, looking for a cab... I must confess... we went to Gatwick Airport - it was cheaper - ... read more

Moving into Europe, the next stop is Barcelona... For me (don't get me wrong!) and comparing to other cities I've visited, Barcelona is one of the most beautiful and cosy places in Europe and definetly, until now, the one I would choose to live... perhaps in a near future I'll move... It's an European city like many others, with it's own culture, monuments, attractions and sightseeings... It has a rail system, expensive avenues, traditional neighbourhoods, an olympic village and rush hour, like any other European city... It's hard to explain why is it so different from London or Paris, but once you go there, you can feel it in the air... You can live in a quiet neighbourhood in the surroundigs, or in a square like Plaza de La Catalunya, right in the middle of the ... read more

Hi there! Here I am writting for the first time...with not much to say, but with many interesting experiences to invite you to... Alentejo is the biggest part in the south of Portugal. Is all the area above Algarve and south of Lisbon (the capital), And it's one of the most riches regions in the whole country. It offers you the best dishes in portuguese food, beautiful country landscapes and an endless sea coast with the quietest sand beaches you can find. In Grandola's region, you get o stay at Grandola's Village and enjoy cheap and traditional food - full meal at a restaurant, including a special dish, with beverages, desert and coffee (and the possibility to take away the leftovers, because it's so many food that you won't be able to finish it all!) will ... read more
