So the morning I had dreded finally came. The day I leave Melbourne! *tear* I love this city so much...words can't express. I have only been here for a week adna half and I am already in love with it and planning my next visit. After waking up late, Gavin and I rushed to pack the rest of our things and run downstairs to catch out bus to the airport. I gave Ashan and Vanessa my big box of tissues and said try not to cry too hard when I leave. I think i'm their favorite American so far! They asked [View Full Entry]

I started my day the way I start everyday here in Australia.... Beep Beep Beep Beep *Snooze Button* Beep Beep Beep Beep I roll out of bed, rub my eyes, drag my feet to the nightstand, grab my toiletry bag, go into the bathroom, start the shower and finish up before I leave for "breaky". Today's menu? Oh surprize surprize, soupy eggs, cold hash browns, undercooked bacon, and baked beans? I just don't get it!! Maybe that's how they do things here. I walked myself over to the hotel, one building down and met up with the rest of the class. [View Full Entry]

As my final day to Melbourne came upon me, I had already set plans up for some of the kids from my group to go and hang out with Vanessa and Ashan from the front desk. I figured I had some time to do my laundry finally. It was piling up in my room! They had washer and dryers in the hotel but they were mad expensive, for one load, wash adn dry, it was 7 bucks. But the dryer was so weak that you had to dry twice so it ended up being like 11 dollars per load. Craziness!!! In [View Full Entry]

So I apparently forgot to update you guys on my optional day tour to the Sofitel Melbourne Hotel. Both of my professors put this opportunity out there for us "hotel-ees" I am actually half foody. But I'll let it slide! >.< We had to get all dressed up, so I finally got use of my dress shoes and pants. However I did not have my black socks with me so white ankle socks it was! I tried not to lift my legs up too high when walking or going up stairs so I could hide them. I did a terrible job [View Full Entry]

I know I am extremely behind on updating all of you, but i'm getting there, this stuff costs money ya know! (Now I know what you mean, Eli). So I will just skip over a lot of the boring places we went to and get to some things that are a little more entertaining. A lot of the venues that we are going to are basically teh same thing over and over again, ad it is all just repeatitive and mundane...but I gotta do what I gotta do. One of the more interesting things, in my books, was having class at [View Full Entry]

The Day I found out that we were going to an Aussie Rules Football Game, I was excited to go. True, I don't know the first thing about Footie, but I was still stoked!! We thankfully got to sleep in that day until around 11ish. As usual, I went to breakfast, took a shower, and went to class in the kingfisher room. A few minutes after everyone arrived, one of the management trainees arrived. A nice man by the name of Tim. He is training his way up to being a General Manager. Best of luck to him... He walked in [View Full Entry]

Sadly all of us had to wake up at the ungodly hour of 8 or earlier to get ready for class. This is summer! We are supposed to be sleeping in!!! No more of this early morning crap. I jumped in the shower, which is heavenly, if i do say so myself; and marched my way down to the first floor for a buffet breakfast. Eggs, hashbrowns (oooh baby i'm a hash brown kinda guy), and slightly undercooked bacon. They like that here.... I sat down at one of the larger circle tables and ate my breakfast as I listened to [View Full Entry]

G'day Mate ;) Since the day I was accepted into the Study Abroad program to Australia, I have been so excited to go. I never thought the day would come and sure enough, July 5th, 2006 rolled around. After packing up all of my clothes and important items we rushed to the airport (because I always wait until the last minute). As I hugged my mom I could tell she was holding back her tears. I hugged my dad, gave him the "Secret Hand Shake" (A few of you lucky ones there know how to do that), and then left for [View Full Entry]
