They are not improving in my book. I stopped using their credit card after it took me 3 months to fix a fraud charge. The merchant charged my twice! A simple mistake, but Capital One made it a nightmare. I had to make many calls to fix the issue and their Direct Banking is no walk in the park either. This company has bad bad customer service policies. They take "customer no service" to the extreme. They try to get you with low CC rates and high banking rates then hold your cash forever! For the HASSLE (get it) I would stay away!
Perhaps they've improved slightly? Perhaps CapitalOne has improved slightly. I've been living outside the US for the past 3 months now and have not had problems yet---I told them once when I left and my card still works! Their customer service is not great, I'll agree, and they are quite inflexible. The last couple times I've called CapitalOne, I have spoken with people at a call center in India. But the benefits of the card are great. No annual fee, ~1% cash back (on my card), and no fees on foreign currency transactions.
He is Mike :) He is one of the famous comedians of Turkey; Cem Yilmaz. He was acted as in the role of Michael Knight of "Knight Rider" :) He has an old car named as KITT in the advertisement. The hairs are similar, hah :-)
We're still bummed that we missed seeing you in Dublin after Christmas last year, but understand. One of these days, they've got to start a cheap non-stop flight between Boise and Phoenix!
Potty Mouth! Hilarious photos of the "WC" sign and Roger enjoying it the old fashioned way. So did you have to pay for the "atmosphere" on the old school style WC?
It's Roger's Long Lost Brothers! Roger: Judging from your "hairy" look in the photos, I'm thinking the guys on the gas station sign might be your long lost furry brothers! Interesting information on Turkey, a country I've never been inclined to visit because I've got so many above it on the "must see" list. Thanks for sharing!
Almost caught up on posts... I still love reading about your adventure. Wow, you're only about 10 months behind in posting them. Way to get right on it, Roger! Oh, and just to remind you of your love of Turkish culture...WAZZUP!!!
And where are you NOW? I haven't been commenting much (OK, at all) but have truly enjoyed following your adventures around the world. I can't believe it's been almost a year and a half. SO now I know where you were in November, but where are you NOW? Drop me a line and let me know.
Safe Travels... a wish from Kuwait I have been enjoying your blog from the beginning (found it in Google as I am planning a bangkok/malaysia/singapore trip with my family this summer). Cudnt stop reading your fantastically detailed travelogue and thoroughly enjoyed my armchair travel with you. I hope you find time coz I see a big backlog you have to churn out. Good luck and safe travelling.
Re: Is Alice Springs a sacred place? We are probably not in a good position to say definitively whether Alice Springs is sacred. The town is pleasant enough to visit. There is a very visible population of Aboriginies and, in our experience, the spiritual nature of the Aboriginal connection to the land may be such that the land in or around Alice Springs could be sacred. Uluru and Kata Tjuta certainly have a sacred history and a spiritual feel to them.
Love the blog... Hi Amy, I don't know if you remember me from the Trust but I absolutely love your blog and read it faithfully. If you have time, would you write a quick itinerary of your trip so far - just a list of where you've been and on what dates? I'm trying to talk my husband into a similar trip!
Be safe and keep up the fascinating entries.
I am SO with you, Amy Pigeons (aka rats with wings) are horrible creatures and I totally understand that a square filled with them would be your version of hell... WHO would let a pigeon perch on them?!
That said, I am thrilled y'all ended up liking Venice... :^)
Roger and his faces!!! Roger, I just choked on my Diet Coke when I saw the picture of your face after drinking grappa. Before I read the note, I thought you were trying to do an impression of an embittered ol Italian grandmother. You're hilarious!

I wish I would have known about this company before accepting their cc offer. I hate capital one!
