Not to be outdone in title.... To protect my adopted home state of Arizona, I do see that what you're referring to as a "Colorado Cheeseburger" actually says "Arizona Dream" on the side of the box. So which is it, Mr. Brown? You guys will have to come for a real burger at In-N-Out in Phoenix one of these days!
Bellissimo! I feel the jealousy welling up inside of me as I read this post and see the photos! It's all so gorgeous and I dream of one day going there as well. Thanks for the very descriptive posts!
First, I am considering Buddism now that I know that Buddhas love Krispy Kremes...
Second, I have no idea how y'all resisted grabbing a baby panda and smuggling it out of there...
Sorry that we missed you! Roger and Amy: We hope you made it to Morrocco safely. Sorry that it didn't work out for you two to join us in Ireland, but we look forward to seeing you in AZ sometime in 2007!
Leg Cast Skier? Umm, are you sure the lady with the cast wasn't covering up some other problem so she could meet her true love in a ski resort like Christy McNichol in that movie we've seen 400 times? It's possible.
We will miss you My daughter and I will miss you so much Steve. Because of you she would like to be a conservationist when she grows up. We have watched you on television for years and feel as if we know you as many of millions of people have throughout the years. We have seen your life change, your family grow and learned so much about the animals and habitats you have protected. We are deeply greaved by your loss and pray for your family daily. May God continue to bless your family and we pray you are happy with your home in heaven, but the world will continue to feel your loss and I hope we can pick up where you have left off and leave the world and it's people a better place when we are called up yonder. Love Kim and Emily
Yummy... I am so jealous. I love Turkish food. My favorite little deli is run by two Turkish brothers and they have the most amazing food. My favorite is an eggplant dish I have no idea the name but it is fantastic. Enjoy!
Hello Again I have been catching up on your travels and had missed a few entries over the past few months. Just spent the last 2 hours getting updated. Once you start reading the entries, you can't stop. Your writing is excellent and I plan on finishing my required reading of your blog tomorrow.
I was particularly interested in the motorcycle trip around Vietnam. It is very interesting that you are the first Westerners that many of the people have seen. As for the food, I don't know if I could consume many of the items that you two have been eating. I probably would come back after a year at least 50 pounds lighter.
Hope you had an excellent Thanksgiving and I am sorry to hear about Roger's health problems. Roger, hope you are feeling ok. Hang in there and keep posting the blog entries so I can continue my virtual tour of the world with you two.
Again, I want to stress that your level of detail about your trip is remarkable. I can't remember my last meal, yet you two seem to have kept copious notes about each event in your travels. Good stuff.
Hope to see you in DC.
Sydney! I currently am enraptured with "Finding Nemo," which features Sydney, and an episode of "The Wiggles" where they sail around Sydney Harbor. Plus, I guess, I have a kid sister named Sydney. But she isnt too much fun and mom always makes me be nice to her and she smells funny. But anyway, I like Sydney the City, so thanks for this.
Re: your blogging Oh, is your little around the world trip tough? Is it hard to quit work and take an 18 month vacation? Is the big bad world beating you down so much you cant even type?
It's hard out here for a tourist.
Our blogging Hank,
We're hoping to blog like a bunch of rabbits over the next few weeks. We don't have the luxury of a plush government job with frequent recesses...
Amy and Roger
Plinko That is AWESOME!!!!!! Chinese Bob Barker may be this years halloween costume. Wow - the things you get to experience while traveling. You guys are lucky. Thanks for thinking of me Jorge.
Fever Out!
Welcome back. While in Shanghai, make it a point to go skyscraper bar hopping during the day.... pick any skyscraper and go to the top for awesome views and airconditioning. Also, to splurge, go to the Jin Mao Tower in Pudong, go to the 87th floor to Cloud 9 in the Grand Hyatt to enjoy a spectacular view of the Bund/City and a Singapore Sling. Miss you. Eloy
WOW! What a view : ) Hope you two are having a good time. The photos are fantastic.
BE SAFE! BE SAFE! BE SAFE!
Especially if you are flying anywhere...take care of YOU!
Monkey Mahem Roger, your experiences with monkeys reminds me of a similar experience I had with the Barbary Apes of Gibraltar. Only there the guides actually amuse themselves by getting you to place these wild beasts on your shoulders while you feed them candy so you can get a picture to record your stupidity for posterity.
wow! Amy and Mookie: Unfortunately I hadn't checked in until just tonight, and I have already stayed up too late trying to catch up with you... but now you are bookmarked and I'll try to stay current! I love reading your journals - so vivid. You guys are a hoot. Wishing you safe travels!
never to return again? It’s been so very long since this, your last post... Where and how are y'all?!??! Post... post... PLEASE... I'm living through y'all vicariously!
