I'm back. I'm still a bit dizzy from the trip. A arrived friday and now I'm already back at Kuwait - not so happy, very tired and a bit depressed. To make it worse its ramaddan, to make it better its only for 4 days. I think the trip has put somethings in perspective. It is really difficult to be satisfied whith everything that life offers you (at least for me). And the one thing I found out is that what is able to do it for you is people. As much as I am kind of a loner and like to be alone more than most, the only trully peacefull moments come when I'm surrounded by good people. This is much more important than the place where you're at. (of course a good paradisiac beach ... read more

This is my last day in Koh Tao. I have only spent 3 days here and I must say it was enough. Contrasting with Ko samui this island is the real paradise island you see in the travel agency flyers. It is really nice and calm and very well kept. My stay here was much more relaxed. I just wandered around alone in a bike on the first day exploring this small island's beaches. The island is sorrounded by corals and is the number one destiny for divers in the world. I opted no to do scuba diving as I think it is still soon after my pneumothorax and if I have a relapse at dept it is certain death. So i'll leave that to my thirty's or something. However today I did the next best ... read more

Koh Samui is a bit different from what I expected. I expected a less caotic world than the one in the continental Thailand, however I was wrong. Its the same. The cities or villages are just the same. the difference is the scenery. Unlike the euroipean style islands Koh Samui does not have roads along the coast from wich you can see the sea. You can almost never see the sea, and to do so must get into dirt roads and most often into resorts or hotels. But... it is still very good. Once I arrived I asked a taxi driver to tajke me to a resort Maja where maja yhad stayed and said was good. No one new where it was until finally one guy new and took me. first I was scared becaused it ... read more

Today I discovered not everything is so good when traveling alone. Right now I'm back at bangkok after the longest trip of my life. After I said goodbye to Andre and Catarina I left Luang Prabang at 8 in the morning in the so called VIP bus which was actually a crappy bus which you no longer see in a civilized country. To make it worse, the bus was full, the air conditioned was weak, the bus driver wasn't such a good driver and a Laos woman vomited the entire trip. And when I say the entire trip I mean the whole 11 hours it took us from Luang Prabang to Vientiane, I think she vomited 2 liters or so. The scenery was beautifull but through the mountains you'll be lucky to find a straight road ... read more

As I already mentioned, the minute I left Anne and Eelke at Chiang Mai I met a portuguese couple, Andre and Catarina. I have been hanging out with these guys for the last few days. They have been great company as its always good to have someone to talk to at dinner and stuff. (Obrigado pela companhia Andre e Catarina!) The slow boat trip from Chiang Khong to Luang Prabang was quite an experience. I really don't wanto to do it again soon. It is very long and unconfortable and you can't avoid thinking why are you wasting two days seating in a boat. However its a unique experience to witness the power of nature during this trip. From the fantastic scenery to the sudden storms along the way it all makes it worth the pain. ... read more

After the trekking trip I went with the italian guys for a thai massage (finally!). This was awsome and I want some more in the next weeks. The girl who did it managed to crack my back in about 10 diferent places and ways. After that the three of us were really relaxed, we all enjoyed it and it was also fun. So we headed back to meet the rest of the gang to exchange contacts and go for dinner. We ended up having dinner at one of the hippest bars in Chiang Mai with great live music. Wthen we moved to a club for some more fun. All of the time we were laughing and just spending a great time but I guess everytone was kind of sad of already having plans for the next ... read more

Hi guys, the last 3 days have been absolutelly fantastic. Just had one of the best experiences in my life with some of the best people one can expect to find. I took the night train from Bangkok to Chiang Mai on thursday. It was a quite cool. The bed where very confortable and even so the journey takes 12 hours as I slept through most of it, it was quite a good trip. As I arrived I met my treking group which would turn out to be an absolutelly great one. We all got along straight away and went out for dinner in chiang Mai. A great evening with lots of laughs a good stories to tell. The next morning we were all in out way with Jack and Chang, our guides to the mountains ... read more

Time has come to leave Bangkok. I've just checked out of the hotel and am catching a train to Chiang Mai in the afternoon. It's a 12 hour journey but the train is equiped with beds and bathrooms so it shouldn't be a problem. Then i'll be trecking and sleeping somewhere in the jungle for two days in a group of eight plus a guide. I'll only be sending news after that probably. Bangkok was is a really cool place but I have stayed for more time than I had planned and I really want to leave and head to a more relaxed place. This city is too turbulent and dirty for a long stay. I'll be back at the nd of my trip anyway, so i'll have more time to explore if I want to. ... read more

Finally in Bangkok. I only arrived yesterday, however it seems as if i've been here for a week already. This city is absolutelly crazy. The trip: The trip was great and not even close to what I was expecting. Turns out that Jet Airways is actually a great company to fly on. Great seats whith more room than I ever seen, great entertainment and super great flight attendants as well. Arriving at Bangkok: I arrived at 7 in the morning and fastly caught a bus to Khao San road which is the backpackers meca in the whole world (jut for those who dont know it already). It was rainning but the temperature as fine and I walked about fo while seeking a guestroom to stay at. I was looking for a cheap place but I also ... read more

Being in London once again was great. Paul was a great guide (thanks Paul) and allowed me to explore the southern part of London a bit which for me was completely new. Some great sites here. Also got the chance to visit 2 museums in one day (modern tate and british museum). All in all for two days we actually did alot. I'm not being able to publish any photos for technical reasons. But i'll come back later to post them.... read more
