Well things are looking up yet again. But I refuse to speak too soon.. After having the best day I could possibly imagine yesterday everything took an ugly turn. The white sand and blue water had washed any almost every worry in the world but my heart sank along with the sun. After a lengthy unpaid meeting I went to get money from a bank machine as I had finally spent all of my airport money. There was a long line up, 'men' were hissing at me and saying things under their breath in divehi. Well, I've just gotten in after three days of being in transit. Best shower I've had for awhile. So it's almost been a year since my last post and my have things changed. I'm now a certified ESL teacher, I just accepted a job offer to work in Maldives for a year. Today is Thursday, I got the email with the initial job posting on Tuesday, contract on Wednesday, shots today.. fly out on Sunday! In polluted bangkok, checking out the markets with my lovely friend Louise i'm dying to come home but terrified of it at the same time a little nervous about bringing my belongings home.. i had bed bugs on the beach and you know how they say good night, don't let the bed bugs bite well i didn't, they feasted on me once when i realized that if i slept mummified in my sleeping sack they wouldn't bit me so they only really got at me twice before i smartened up :) i'm glad i bought that expensive silk sleeping sack before [View Full Entry]
