Appsie - Claire Apps

Claire Apps Hi guys!

Welcome to Will and Claire's around the world in 365 days world tour!

Next stop the unknown!

It all started a long long time ago, (i'm sure wills parents will agree).

The night sky shone bright with its luminated stars as the damp dew from the murky cold night slivered down my window.
Racky my brains me and will (notice it took both of us) comtemplated a means of escape, we'd been living for a while in what only can be described as the sleepy hollow of Dunsfold! deserted to a city gal, I found my self mythed by the lack of transportation and the country that surrounded this beautiful yet unescapable village.

It seemed to me that many strays passed through the village but hardly any of them had left! We had become unknown to the outsider even the local buses rarely passed through!

In order to escape this place it would take more than an hour bus journey which would usually try to seduce you with its beautiful scenic views of the area (it really is beautiful). We could perhaps escape through the idilic countryside via horse back, which is a popular method of transportation in this area, but it would need to be bigger and better than that. Also I'd proberly end up carrying the horse, especially where I wanted to go!

Know this plan had to be big, the location had to be great! It was then that it hit me,on that cold wintery night a year ago the plan was hatched!

Next stop Hong Kong! (after the leaving party of course, which I must add was a hell of a party)

Las Vegas! When you arrive in Las Vegas you ony have to look around the airport to know youre here, casinos everywhere! We decided to do Las Vegas in style and stay on the strip for the 5 days we were here, we chose The Flamingo and The Excalibur, the Excalibur looks like a Disney castle its very beautiful. I cant describe how beautiful the rooms were and we had a bath!!!!!!!!!!! For us Las Vegas was a chance to chill in luxuary for a bit and hit the designer shops for me. We went to four shows, tournament of the [View Full Entry]

So were in LA, Awsome! We were told a few bad things about LA and its true from first appearances it does seem a bit scary! but in all I've loved Hollywood. Were staying at USA Hostels around the corner from Hollywood Boulevard and near Sunset. The first day we wondered up a long Hollywood B. Its so surreal, we were getting stopped on the streets by wannabee rappers asking us to listen to theres CD'S, Crazy! Eventually we got to the highlight of the walk, the chinese theatre. Famous for the premieres of Hollywood where all the stars walk the [View Full Entry]

yey, Sun!! So New Zealands absolutely stunning but the weather was a bit rainy (2 days straight) so we were praying for the gorgeous sun before we hit the northern hemisphere again. Looks like we got our wish, 26 most days which is great. We arrived nice and early, 3am to be precise! greeted by a live Cook Islands style band, they were very upbeat for 3am. We watched as familys welcomed each other back to there home island, placing beautiful garlands of colourful flowers around their necks. The Cook Islands is made up of 22 islands and 18,000 people roughly [View Full Entry]

Wellington is also where Peter Jacksons Studios are, tried to get an audition but you know! talent!!! Anyway we spent some time just roaming the city checking out the museum. The next day we headed to the South Island, lots of New Zealanders had told me we were in for a real trip so it should be good. One 3 hour ferry and [View Full Entry]

Taupo!

Oceania » New Zealand » North Island » Taupo
So we arrived in Taupo late afternoon, we were exhausted after the hostel from hell! Lake Taupo is stunning one of the most beautiful lakes I've seen. We really wanted to start getting into doing activities, extreme sports is after all what New Zealands known for! But as Adventurous as we are, we thought we'd start of with Kayaking! We did a bit in Oz but that was amature compared to the 4 and a half hour stint we did. We had a guide and were in a two man kayak, had to wear the life jacket and skirt( the skirt's [View Full Entry]

The first leg of the Magic Bus took us from Auckland to Waitomo, where the famous [View Full Entry]

The Great Barrier Reef

 Oceania » Australia » Queensland » Cairns
So were in Cairns, beautiful hot Cairns, it's the hottest xmas were see for a while im sure. We spent xmas day by the pool swiming in 30 plus heat to Jingle Bells blaring out in the background! Very odd. Originally for the barrier Reef we'd both booked to do an introductory dive heading 12 metres under water, to be honest I was a bit scared of the idea but Will convinced me it would be one of the best experiences of my life. I n the end when after getting excited they wouldn't let me dive because I'd had slight [View Full Entry]
