The time came to renew our visa's so us girls (Stephanie, Melanie, Codi and I) decided Panama was the spot to hit up. We had been told by friends what a fun spot Bocas Del Toro is to visit, so that was our destination. We had a super fun and relaxing time whilst in Bocas. out of our 5 nights there only two of them were spent partying (yes quite unusual for us). Life is beautiful... Here are some updated pics of life in Montezuma! Steph and I are just loving living here. I visited Mexcio City on a primary school exchange... and here I was 13 and a half years later returning to reunite with my beautuiful Mexican family, Familia Fuentes. I am in HEAVEN... I met my friend Steph (who I met in BA a few months back) in Montezuma. I must admit at first I was thinking to myself "why does she love this place so much..." though it only took me a couple of days to realise and now I am in love also. Montezuma is a small town about 7hrs by bus and ferry from San Jose. I met Mum and Dad in Buenos Aires, Argentina and had a WONDERFUL 2 and half wks travelling with the. We spent a wk in BA where I played tour guide. We did some sight seeing but mostly wined and dined! True Nielsen style :) We spent an incredible day and night in Iguazu Falls staying at the very ritzy Sheraton Towers. What an experience that was. WOW!!! The salt flats in Uyuni would have to be another of the most spectacular sites I have ever seen, up there with Machu Picchu. Once again, WOW!! Unfortunately we didn't have too much time in Uyuni so were only able to do a day trip to the salt flats. However this was still enough time to enjoy the beauty of miles and miles of flat salt. Tom met a girl when we were volunteering in Pisco who knew another gal who was living and working in a town called Cochabamba, about 8hours south east of La Paz. We decided it would be fun to visit her and discover a new town. Wow it feels like so long ago that I was battling altitude sickness, eating llama and taking crazy pictures on the salt flats in Uyuni with Tom. When you catch a bus in Bolivia you have to add at least an hour to any length of time they tell you it will take, at least an hour. We learned this fast. Tom and I were both were both interested in lending a hand and participating in some voluntary work in Peru, after hearing about the devastating earthquake in August this year. Tom and I met a German guy Tobi who told us about a cheap backpacker way to get to Machu Picchu, and seeing as we are trying to stick to a budget we decided to take on this idea.
