Not Neruda's poem
I really like this poem, but when I googled it to get a better copy, I discovered that it was not written by Neruda. Martha Medeiros (Brazil) is the true author!

Yes, I already talked about that. Thank you.

The person we'd like to be
Nice reflections here Carolina. It is interesting this concept of 'the person we'd like to be'. I suppose in one sense there is the counter side to it.... the person we ARE who we just need to accept... without judgement... with a sense that we must live with that and make it work for us and others. A balance I think. I constantly have 'themes' that I feel I am working on to 'be the person I'd like to be'... but at the same time I try not to try TOO hard (if that makes sense).... So as not to set myself up for failure or disappointment... to always balance the effort with 'it is what it is' ..... 'just like this' ......'just as I am'........ and 'let it be'.......... Actually through self-acceptance (with a big smile at the ridiculous non-permanence and illusion of it all) I think we do get to see the person we'd like to be. Oh well.... enough philosophising for now.... step by step and it's time for yoga. I am just like this. x

I understand the duality of the concept. And I think it's true that a lot is about acceptance of who you are and what life brings to you. But there is still something we can do right? Specially in terms of knowning ouserlves, make decisions.... not too hard, not pushing anything but just using all this knowledge and experience for our own good and to keep going deeper into wisdom.

Ambassador for Catalonia
We're all into the Catalonia thing now... Spanish lessons , watching "The Way ", swapping houses in Girona. Perhaps Carolina is secretly the Ambassador of Cataloia to Australia Jon Fog

Further to...
...after spending time in Madrid and Barcelona (plus a few other countries and now in Sevilla), I can assure all that Girona was for me the highlite of my trip (I did not take 150 pics in a day for for nothing!). I spent seven hours there and hardly sat down once nor have time for food except the apple I took with me (and there is pleny of choice to be had). I had my camera and tripod on a drizzly and overcaste day but still so much 'to focus on'...highly recomended but I would suggest try and make time for more than one day if possible! Many thanks Carolina for the suggestion, it is a wonderful town, Bob

Neruda
I almost feel I have a connection, albeit slim to Pablo Neruda. when visiting Valpraiso, Chile in 2007 we visited his residence. whilst this may not be his poem, he certainly did make a mark on literature.

wow - good piece of writing
This blog is incredible because it cuts to the core of some very real stuff in India - the dislocation of people and the effect it has on their lives - and the dependence (of course) on economic imperative for survival - at what cost. Paul xxxx

Hello! I don't know who are you but thank you for you comment! And you are right, it's a very simple story but sometimes, the simpliest things make you thnk a lot! About kutima.... her family is looking for a guy.... would be nice to think that one guy will walk past those holes and she will choose him... Difficult in the rural India! I hope you enjoy with my other blogs!
