Great 4th Dan, Deb and I had a great 4th, only wish the Giants had won. Fireworks and venue were terrific, great buffet and lovely wines. Nothing like spending the whole day with two of my favorite people.
Great Weekend Fun, fun, fun. Only problem was the Giants lost, however, Dan got to see one of the best ball parks in USA. Fireworks that night were unbelievable and thanks to Deb's membership in CA National parks organization we got great buffet and private viewing on top of Marine Museum.
Looks like I missed one hell of a party! Fantastic- great job on the decorations bro! Sure looks like Mom enjoyed her surprise party- so wish I could have been there- but not long now. We called but went to Peg's v/m- hope you heard the song, but it was almost 3am and I had to crash man.
Can't wait to join in on the celebrations soon :>
I should have known . . Ah Dan . . . I should have known. You have experienced it. No wonder you were so completely there in every moment of the workshop. No wonder there was so much grace and energy. I should have known . . . .
Wow Most of what keeps me in the now is my children. I am always in awe of how great they are and what constant love they live in. I guess I too spent a lot of my thinking in the past until I found it got to be boring while the present is fascintating and the future still fuzzy and a little scary.
I always thought parents teach children, however, I have learned the most about myself and the world because of my children and grandchildren.
Planning for the Future Living in the now includes being responsible for yourself and others, which includes planning for the future. You can make plans for the future while being in the present. No pain will likely come of that unless you long for what hasn't arrived yet. You can also remember a past event and experience it again in the present. Pain can come from that if you long for what no longer is. These are subtle issues that Tolle is good at clarifying. He is fun to watch online if you get time.
.. Dan, this is a _great_ posting. Living in the now is something we need to learn, by unlearning a lot of what's drilled into us by institutions. Being human and part of a living network, we are always conflicted between planning (positioning for future health and happiness) and just living. I agree, the two are mostly mutually exclusive. It's about balance.
Me too It was the first destination on our world trip, and for a beach resort, nothing so far has even come close. I love Playa del Carmen. I see you do too! I would love to work there.. Katie
