Settling In - Thursday Well, it’s late Friday evening and the entire camp is set up and ready to go! The advance party arrived Thursday at 3.30pm and began the difficult task of building a tented village for over 50 of us. By the time it was dark, most of the canvas was up, we had electric power for lights and refrigeration and the chemical toilets were fully primed and raring to go. This year sees the Troop visit a brand new site in the Lake District. With stunning scenery and fantastic facillities, this promises to be one of the best Summer Camp ever!
Arrivals The 9th Doncaster Scout Troop are due to arrive on site in the next few days, with the 'Advanced Party' arriving on Thursday and the 'Main Party' arriving on Friday. The Advanced Party will be in charge of pitching Patrol Tents, Patrol Diners, Mess Tents, Ed's Diner and will also start preparing equipment for the wide variety of activities that are being hosted. Once the Main Party has arrived on Friday, they will settle into their new camp setting, unpack their kit and assist with any jobs that need doing.
