These kids are just a joy to see - they greet you with huge smiles and hugs

Thursday 16th - Said my goodbyes to Martin, Vicky and Beka at Quang Ngai and caught the bus over to my next volunteering post - Tam Ky. Was a good trip over even though the bus as usual overcrowded. The usual when you get off the bus, you are swamped by motor bike guys wanting to take you on their bikes, but I was being met by "Mr Horn" from the volunteer house. Was welcomed by the other volunteers - Glenda, Anne, Sarah, Maebh and Lisa and the wonderful cook, Mrs Hahn. After dinner, went for a walk with Anne and then had to play nursemaid to Glenda, who was very sick. Pleased to say, she was much better next day. Went to the Home of Affection on push bike and they are a lovely lot of kids. Later, Beka, Martin and Vicky came over and Sarah took us to an icecream and coffee place.
On Saturday, Uyen came over from DaNang and took me to Phu Ninh Lake and I joined Beka, Martin and Vicky out there. We all had a boat ride on the lake and a little wander on one of the many man made islands. The

surroundings were very pleasant and picturesque. I stayed out at Phu Ninh and my accommodation was a dear little bungalow. It was much cooler out there and also had some rain. Next day, was back via Tam Ky out to Tam Tanh Beach where I had a very refreshing swim. After lunch went out to see some Cham ruins but they have been let run down and then it was back to the house.
On Monday, was the first day at the baby orphanage. This was where I had a quick trip to last year. There is one very small baby only two weeks old and of course, just gorgeous. In the afternoon out to the Home of Affection and had my three kids, Khue, Thai and Hau for their English lessons. They are 3 beautiful boys. Later in the evening, met Phuong (teacher in Tam Ky) and some of her students who wanted to hear me speak. We had coffee and they gave me a lovely bunch of flowers in appreciation.
During the week, the schedule is giving the English lessons to the children at Home of Affection and playing with the babies and children at the Baby Orphanage,

This is one of Tam Ky's best kept secrets. Just beautiful - here are the 4 of us, Beka, Vicky, Martin and self
but on Wednesday and Thursday we go to Tam Tahn school to give English lessons. After these lessons we all have a swim at the beach before lunch.
On Thursday, some of the girls went for a bike ride, and Glenda was very lucky. She decided to have a "row" with a motor bike. Her bike came off second best and fortunately, she only suffered a bruised hand.
After going to the Home of Affection and lunch on Friday I took the bus over to Danang and then spent the weekend in Buon Ma Thout and Pleiku.
So only have a couple more days here in Tam Ky and that will be the end of my volunteering in Vietnam. Now that I have filled in my activities in Tam Ky I am now up to date with my journal.
