Ho Chi Minh's residence, Hanoi, Vietnam
After a small panic this morning because I'd discovered two missing travellers cheques valued at USD$200-, I visited the Ho Chi Min Mausoleum. It was very eerie to see a body that has been preserved for over 30 years. Apparently the Vietnamese ship him off to Russia every so often for some maintenance - you know, the odd nip & tuck... The group had lunch on Hoan Kiem Lake, then I headed back to the Hotel for a quiet afternoon spent following up on my missing cheques. Dad managed to sort it all out from home & AMEX are refunding the money, although I am mightly interested as to where they ended up. It's not like me to lose something like that & there wasn't much chance for anybody to steal them either.
Had our new group meeting this evening, which had changed again only today from six passengers to only three! Those continuing are Leah, Cormac & myself, althouh our group leader is now Snow White (no joke) from China.
