The practice pool where we learnt the very basics of diving We woke up really early today and got ready to head down to meet at reception for a big day of scuba diving. There were three of us doing the discover scuba diving course today, the other guy in our group was French and only spoke basic English so we had to wait around for them to find an instructor who spoke French. We sat in the resort restaurant and ordered some breakfast while we looked over some scuba driving notes and filled out some forms. Eventually they found us an instructor so got some gear and headed up to the practice pool. Firstly he showed us how to attach all the equipment and also how to easily put everything on. We moved over to the ledge where he showed us how to jump in the water and with all our equipment, one by one we jumped in.
He took us to the shallow end where we practiced filling our goggles with water and how to get the water out by blowing out of your nose. He taught us various techniques and different procedures in case we lose our mouth pieces or get a mouth full of water while 10m

The fantastic (and really, really deep) pool at our resort down. Afterwards we in the deep end which was very deep for a swimming pool, we swam around underwater getting used using our equipment, then that was it. We had around 45 minutes before we were getting on a boat and going out to sea to scuba dive, so we put our equipment in a bag, went to get some snacks, then waited for the boat to arrive. When it came shortly after, we carried our bags into the long tail boat which took us to the boat we were heading out to sea in. There were two dives on that afternoon, the first one was too deep for us so we had to stay on the boat and wait for everyone to go down then come back up. Meanwhile we had a swim in the beautiful blue water then sat around and waited for them.
Eventually everyone was aboard and we were off to the second dive. As we approached the site our instructor got our equipment ready and went through things one last time. When the boat stopped we threw on our equipment and jumped into the water. We swam around to the front of the boat

Our resort bar overlooking the beach to the rope which it was anchored on and slowly, as our instructor adjusted our equipment we followed the rope down. This was the scariest bit because the water was really rough and it takes a while to adjust to that fact that you can breathe underwater. We reached the end and let go of the rope, we began swimming around the bottom of the sea and it was beautiful. There were fish everywhere swimming around the coral as we followed our instructor around the rocks. It was amazing, we were having so much fun. We spent around 30 minutes swimming around before it was time to head to the surface.
We slowly climbed upwards and eventually broke the surface and took our masks off. Unbelievable, I loved it so much, I plan to return and do my open water certificate someday. We floated to the end of the boat and one by one climbed back aboard and took our gear off. Once everyone was back on board we headed back to the beach by taking another long tail boat and met a girl for a drink in the bar. She had been filming us while we were preparing

Another spectacular sunset to dive and while we were diving underwater. Hannah and I bough a copy of the video, rather expensive, and it wasn’t till we got to England much later we watched it and realized it didn’t work. Afterwards we headed back to our room to have a shower and get changed for dinner.
Tonight we headed in the other direction looking for somewhere to eat, there was much more on offer over here. We went to another Mexican restaurant tonight and ordered lots of food, we were starving. The food was excellent, it was really good compared to the Mexican we had last night. We ordered too much food but ate so much tonight, it was delicious. After dinner we returned to our room and fell straight asleep, we were stuffed.
