Our ferry-bus transfer on our way to Bangkok
We were up early again today but it was traveling all day long today. We packed up our gear and checked out of the resort. We took a taxi, which was really a pickup truck, to the pier and they didn’t even charge us. We waited around for a while until the ferry came to take us to Chumporn. It took around an hour to get to Chumporn and we when did it was chaos trying to get our backpacks and get off the massive ferry onto a small pier made out of wooden sticks. We got assigned to a bus for the long drive into Bangkok, it was going to take at least 8 hours. While we waited for our bus to arrive we managed to get a table and order some lunch from the small Thai store. It was quite good food and it was so cheap. We finished lunch and grabbed some snacks for the long journey from the convenience store around the corner. By this time there were so many people trying to get food and sit down it was madness, people everywhere. Finally our bus came, they called out our number and we rushed to get

a good seat as quickly as we could.

Soon after we were on our way, for the rest of the day we were driving. Not much to tell really, we had a few stops to let people off, besides that we sat watching movies on the television. Later on we stopped for 20 minutes at this small Asian food market where most people went to grab some dinner. I had a couple of chicken skewers from a street stall, they were ok, we also grabbed a few more snacks and jumped back aboard the bus when it was time to leave again. It was dark by the time we got into Bangkok, and on the way we witnessed an amazing lightning storm. I have never seen lightning as big as I did tonight, the whole bus was amazed. Finally we made it, we got of the bus scrambled to get our luggage and walked through the rain to find our hotel.

Eventually with the help of our terrible map which didn’t even mark the correct roads, if at all, we found our hotel and checked in dripping wet. We went up to our room while was quite nice,

very clean then wondered what we would do for dinner. Since by this time it was already getting really late and it was raining outside we went to the McDonald’s marked on our map. We borrowed an umbrella from reception and after trying to follow this silly map we finally found it. We ate dinner then returned to the hotel and went to sleep.
