My dad has just got home 2 days ago after almost a month in Thailand. We had a great time exploring mostly amazing Ko Phi Phi island and surrounding islands. The weather hasn't been always sunny- it's been cloudy on most days, but when the sun came out in full power, we realised we actually prefer when it's cloudy for numerous reasons... Walking while the sun is in full power makes you tired faster, you can get sun burned which is not pleasant and you need a shade on the beach - which can get crowded 😊 We don't use sun tan lotion these days - otherwise I'd go though many bottles already 😊 Of course the weather will change in a few days and will become more stable for the months to come. My friend Alena who's been diving here for 6 years told me that the weather is always like this in December - and even the temperature of the water drops - that didn't happen this year. For you who would like to come to Phi Phi in December wanting some sun and constant blue sky, this can be a useful information that can make you consider coming some other time starting January when the weather is pretty much guaranteed... 😊 We had a few amazing days, but that's not the norm in December 😊 O.K. enough of that 😊 My plan was to take my dad to so many places and islands that his head would spin, but the trip didn't work out that way... He saw Bangkok - but we left the AMAZING Grand Palace for after we come back to Bangkok before his flight back - not knowing that my dad would decide to fly back from Phuket to Bangkok (being 6ft he didn't want to sit 12 hours on a bus). So he didn't see it, but he prefered to stay on the beach anyway as he loves swimming. He swam every single day and now that he's back home he can't use to the cold weather 😊 In the end he only saw Phuket - Patong Beach and we stayed the whole time in Koh Phi Phi which is has the best beaches in Thailand. We took 2 trips to famous Maya Beach, Monkey Beach and Mosquito Island. Appart from the we explored Phi Phi to the max - Loh Mo Dee, Pak Nam Bay, Rantee Bay... We got lost in a jungle on the way to Rantee Bay with a couple from Birmingham. After going down a steep hill in a jungle holding ropes for support that somebody put there, the path came to an end and we ended up going 2 km down a steep stream of water as that was the only way. It was very demanding, scary and mosquitos loved us - I was bitten at least 100 times 😊 In the end we ended up dirty, tired and happy to be out of there on a different beach up north. We then walked through the stones on the beach to Rantee bay as it was a low tide. Rantee bay is a great snorkling spot, so we soon forgot about the adventure 😊
